Bazzy,

Have a great time and kick a little Maori butt while you're there. Most of all enjoy the event and the camaraderie. Is Tomo participating or even going? Sounds like a great father-son event if you both were about 25.

I am so jealous!

Thanks Danno, this weekend is a 'practice' the big event is another 4 weeks away. Janet and TomO are coming over as support crew for the event!!

I said to TomO last night that I was a little nervous, he said, don't worry Dad, just embrace it! Such wisdom!!

Did a failed 2k attempt today (I went in wrong, too close after dinner and gave up after 700m, but finished the row), followed by an online 60m. Nice thing is, one of the guys friended me on Facebook afterwards and he seems to use FB only for rowing stuff.

Class of 1988 for High School so he seems to be near my age. But from his posts it seems he rows with a HR well above mine. Peak HR in some of his rows sits at 196, and average for today's hour was 175 (what I generally consider my peak and will start to back off a little). I can go above 175 (I've seen as high as 185 back in September), but never really tried.

It's fun to see the updates on him though, and it made me wonder who else uses Facebook for rowing status updates? I've used the C2 app in the past, but other than Farmville I don't use Facebook much. But in case anyone is looking for friends, I'm "Wim Rumping" and I'm pretty sure there's not many of me in the US.

Hooyah - gotta love a good battle! Free Spirits has added just a FEW more people in the last few hours....I think this maneuver is called scuttling the boats....and Community Rowing might be sensing an opportune moment is near.

2 Free Spirits Virtual Club 9,075,252 163 55,676
3 LUNA-TICS Virtual Club 8,176,338 106 77,135
4 Community Rowing, Inc On-Water Club 8,077,130 270 29,915

Maybe the above numbers will look better in the morning....

This past weekend as Demaryius Thomas raced down the Broncos football field with his 80 yard winning touchdown reception, fans in Denver yelled "run! run like you've never run before!" Now, we need to apply that sentiment in this situation!

Go long, Lunies, and row like you've never rowed before!

Might have captured some of today's numbers in with yesterday's when I pulled the numbers at 930 AM MST, but still...over ONE million team member meters were rowed in 25 or so hours. That's AMAZING !

We're rowing at warp speed! At this rate, we'll have time to explore some of the gazillion planets that the astronomy people are telling us we now have....including those planets that share twin stars...those are things that used to only happen in science fiction books.

Season meters as of 258/366 = 129,548,826 m (starting to look at 3rd place overall... :D )

Total meters on the day = 1,174,863 m

Oars in space (participation) =
45 percent !

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations: Woohoo! A 21 "meter gun" salute!

Image NEWS FLASH:

By the light of the supernova...Jim K has just completed a 100,000 m row...yes, fueled by a 12 pack of Diet Coke and a jar of peanut butter (foodstuffs second only to a Kiba pizza), Jim has put the pedal to the metal...and completed something that only a few can claim ! Well rowed, you crazy guy!

She is still pretty upbeat, but I can tell she is scared. I have to admit that I broke down when she asked for my Soc Sec Number so that she could put me on her bank accounts and told me that she has named me as the executor of her estate. Oh man :!:
I know that many of you will be sending prayers and healing thoughts our way, and I thank you. She will be at one of the best medical facilities in the country and I am hoping for the best possible outcome.
Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers.
Ron
Definitely thoughts and prayers going towards you and your sister! Hang in there!
