Welcome, Miryam!

I have a few acquaintances in the botany department in Madison as well as a very dear, former neighbor who is now living in a nursing home in Waukesha. We were in Waukesha and Kinosha for a wedding in September. My husband's family is from the Milltown/Shell Lake area.

I am struggling with the daily 15,000 for the challenge; that was one reason I made my goal public. Three more days! I hope we have lots of Timbuctooers on the Skeleton Crew by Friday!

The Skeleton Crew has made me think that I should add the Pirates series to my Netflix list this month!

Almost missed your 400,000 milestone, Cindy! Congrats! When you have a chance, be sure to give us an update regarding baby #3!

Your ability to row during pregnancy amazes me!

B) Welcome to the team Miryam.

Hello everyone, Another great day on the erg. Had a little trouble starting tonight, but then turned on the World Series- congrats to the Phillies! And finished watching the game, and got through the workout in good shape.

That's another great benefit of erging, you can do it in front of the TV or jamming to some music that keeps the time going by quickly.

Good luck Linda on reaching your goal of 15k. And remember, even if you don't reach your goal for today, that doesn't stop the world from turning or air in our lungs. So don't look back, keep on setting new goals, and strive for the next one. The journey is the part we all can be proud of when we know we've given it our all. Keep on Erging!

I feel that the most important step in any major accomplishment is setting a specific goal. This enables you to keep your mind focused on your goal and off the many obstacles that will arise when you're striving to do your best.

Thank you very much for the warm welcome!

I enjoyed rowing with Timbuktoo in the FRC. I'm also a rowing newbie - hard to believe that I've only had my erg for 6 weeks although I rowed at my health club for 6 weeks before that.

In terms of goals - I have a long term goal of (virtually) rowing from Madison to Philadelphia this year - I just reached Ohio this week! I also try to row every day and at least 20,000m/week.

Fall Rowing Challenge Wrap-Up:
All-Time Participation Record Set!

The number of clubs participating in the Fall Rowing Challenge more than doubled over last year, growing from 79 to 197. Individual participation figures nearly tripled as well, jumping from 827 to 2,304! And a grand total of 220,098,512 meters were rowed, way up from 78,636,429 last year.

Here is just one of the many testimonials we received during the Fall Rowing Challenge.

"This is my first time participating in the FRC… It has been wonderful to be a part of the excitement generated by our participation in the contest. More and more people are trying out the indoor rowers to contribute their efforts to the cause. We only have three of them so there often is a line to get on! Thank you for making this so accessible to our patients. Many of them thought they had all their competitive years behind them. Thanks again for allowing us to compete!"
--Margaret Tolbert R.N.
Shady Grove Adventist Hospital Cardiac Rehab team

Congratulations to Harbor City CrossFit of Melbourne, Florida, the winner of the random draw for a new indoor rower!

THANK YOU all for being part of this record-setting year!
