Mrs. Claus!!! We know Santa doesn't row, cuz he's got a "a little round belly,
that shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly."

Definitely NOT a rower. ;)

Humm.... Seems like Mrs. Claus is taking a "pot" shot at somebody? Wonder who? Mrs. Claus also seems to look a lot like Lisa - must just be a coincidence.

Well, she's a tad grayer than I am yet, but if I'm as studly as she is when I hit her age, I'll be quite happy!

Hi, D6K9Cop, We'd love to have you join us, and we're glad your K9 helped you sniff out a great team!
I'm a 54yo male, ex-pat New Yawka now living in Corn & Soybean Central. Foot brace forced me to choose rowing over running (okay, even when I ran 30 years ago, though I loved it, I could only run twice a week, since I'm a big dude & I over-pronate. That was at 215lbs. - now I'm 255lbs.!), with a sideline on the bicycle. 11 million meters and counting.
It helps me stay far from my highest weight of 330, keeps my sugar very tightly controlled, and gives me the extra energy to... GOOD GRIEF, WHO AM I KIDDING?! IT SUCKS EVERY DROP OF ENERGY FROM MY BODY, LEAVING ME LIKE A SQUEEZED-OUT DISHRAG!!! My lungs burn, my muscles cry out for glycogen, my arms hang limply by my sides, and I can hear my heart thump!
The good news is that I always post good times, I keep coming back for more pain, and that 18 hours later I feel super until I decide to stomp on my soul again...

I hope you're not a masochist like me, but if you are, make sure you take one second longer than me at every distance! Or maybe not...

Seriously, though, a huge welcome from TimbukTOO, we hope you will be inspired by our team spirit while adding to it!

Welcome aboard! I just joined them at the end of August, and I love this team and the camaraderie and support everyone shows each other. So on that note I'll add, 'Happy Holidays and happy erging'!

I had to give up on the Holiday Challenge but I'm slowly coming back for the VTC. I'll set a conservative goal of 75k as a starting point.

Ok you all are stuck with me and thanks for the warm welcome. I too was forced to stop running due to serious leg injury suffered on the job and was told to explore rowing. Since 24hr fitness had the C2 machines i decided to give it a try and hooked the first day and upon returning home i purchased my own. Its nice that the the gym at work has 2 C2 machines as well. I bike on the side as well and have a legs day on Sundays. 28+ years on the job and nearing retirement so i row as much as i can and i do ok. I live and work in Southern California and look forward to alot of fun with you all. Thanks for the invite and have a merry Christmas.

Welcome aboard, Mark! Rowing is a great low-impact way to stay fit.

You made it to the challenge team, but the affiliation thing didn't seem to take -- can you try it again? If it works you will see yourself on our affiliation page...

But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he rowed out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
