All this time I thought millipedes or centipedes were the only things that had more than eight legs. No archnophobia for me! Nine-Legger!
PS: Scores are updated and again, your scores rock!

I did the 6k today (23.01.5 good for 952 points but about 40 secs slower than my pb last fall. ) now have 7546. still have the 500 and the marathon to row. When does the Nonathlon end ?
I usually get faster when the weather cools down. Of course, so do the rest of us. might finish in the top 10. happy rowing t6o you all !

Bob:
You continue to demonstrate your commitment and passion for rowing with these great times. The Nonathlon season is the same as C2, so you will get cool (and cold) weather to row in to improve your times.
My PB for 6k was 23:47 last winter and 24:08 in the heat... What kind of drag factor is normal for your mid-distance pieces 2k - 10k? I may need to follow Dr. Kev's recommendation to alter my rowing to include more interval work with higher intensity as I clearly should be able to do better than my 840 point average. Drop me a note or PM, again, thanks for the great performance.

Rick -
I rowed a 500 meter piece in 1.39.4. This is a mediocre time, but it equalled a personal best. I was pulling 1.39 flat and lost my chance to better it in the last 80 meters. Rats ! This brings me to 9 nonathlon events and 8456 points. Sometime in the next week I'm going to row another 30 minute piece to try to help pull Rowbo I ahead in the CTC.
Happy Rowing !

To My UNM Teammates:
After I started to verify my latest Nonathlon Update, I found that Bonnie Hammel has registered what must be a new personal best for 60 minutes. She recorded a Nonathlon score of 896 for this piece.
WAY TO GO BJH!

Don't you just hate that?! As for mediocre,
I should live to be so "mediocre"!

Finally got a (brief) break in the humidity Saturday morning and decided to take advantage of it to have a whack at one of the longer pieces. Turned out to be a smart move--the humidity's back at 100% again today!
PS: Yes, it is a personal best (see ELM)

Bonnie -
That you were able to row a full 60-minute piece during July, regardless of humidity, is awesome. That you were able to get a PB out of it is mindblowing.
You'll have to let us in on the secret to making sweat designs on your shirt, because, for some reason, after only 30 minutes of rowing, mine look like they came straight out of the washer! Must be the C-breeze.

Congratulations on your new personal best !
As regards the 500 meter time I recorded, 24% of the men in my
age and weight category did better than that last rowing year. That's why it is a mediocre time. Its also been the best I could do for 3 years now, whic I find a bit frustrating. Obviously its a good time in other age/sex/weight categories.
Happy rowing !

Greetings UNM Rowmates:
I have continued to update the Nonathlon scores each week. It is great to see the number and qualilty of high performance efforts on the part of our team.
I have adjusted the sorting on the average scores recorded on pieces rowed. The total points, ranking and names follow the average points recorded.
I would like to hear feedback from anyone on the format.

just an observation....something to take into consideration for when all 10 legs of Nonathlon are completed (I hope I achieve it some day):
If someone has 100 points in the '+' column it means they have completed all 10 events - only the top "9" scores are counted to your total, but you get a bonus for doing all 10.
This will make a difference in the overall averages if you use the total number of points divided by the events...

Jim:
I agree with your thoughts, I considered adding either a bonus points column or a note to indicate that bonus points were included in the totals.
I too hope to complete all 10 segments and get rid of my slowest time (currently 2k) as it looks like many people must train for the 2k distance with a different intensity than I use.
Thanks for the comments.
