Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
I'm very confident that you guys will be setting entrely new standards if you're still erging into your third age - I really hope you do as its an excellent way to stay fit. We all have our place and I'm happy if 95th %ile or better so we know there's a few out there (Nick R on here and Richerd Cheeseman just two of them) who are in a totally different league on the longer stuff and the same age as me - you'll be comparing scores with their legacy not mine!

That's very rareified air when we're talking about Nick and Richard, and I've never been, nor will be, as good as them. I'm consistently amazed at their abilities.MPx wrote: ↑June 11th, 2024, 5:49 pmI'm very confident that you guys will be setting entrely new standards if you're still erging into your third age - I really hope you do as its an excellent way to stay fit. Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
I bagged a British Record on 20 October. Marathon madness in 3:39.56.9. Not earth shattering fast but all I could do on the day - back was tightening badly for the last hour. Had to get in quick before the big 6-0 and also even more contenders in 55-59 LWT ladies category which is growing with quite a few famous names and faces.

Hopefully will get to BRIC. Planning also for Irish in November.
Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
Hey Susan good to see you posting again. Many congrats on netting a record for the marathon - rather you than me! Just looked them up and here you are in full glory.
Also really impressive to see Carol and Georgie still holding on to so many of the records long after they've clicked up to other categories.
I'll give you a wave at BRIC. As usual I'll be there watching not competing and cheering you all on!

Racing at 12:05 erg 4. Was hoping to go 8:35 but might be more like 8:39.

Hey ho big 60. Been busy knocking some 55-59 records recently as a few heavyweight ones haven't been claimed
Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
Wow! Looks like that's 4 of them Susan. Well done indeed - bask in that glory. 60+ up for grabs next then...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
yep - final 2 squeezed in this week which explains why they are 95% rather than really good. Should be in the records soon.
5k - 22:28.8 Should have been 9 -15 secs faster if I hadnt started too strongly for my own good and blown up by 3k in.
HM - 1:42:59.8 saved to the last day which meant only 50 hours rest after the 5k. Really desperately trying to bring it home sub 1 hour 43 mins, but hoping to give it a repeat next weekend at least a minute faster after a better rest.
A temporary heavyweight but out to rectify that 0.9kg over - Hamburg half beckons 1 March, which although I can probably get in touch and swop to HWT I am hoping not to.
PS Suffering from a sugary cake/desert/coffee day. Far too much bad stuff in celebration (the birthday steak and chips were positively healthy).

Crumbs...so that's 6 records overall - awesome. I see that Carol has got the 60-64 LWT locked out with a full house so not much prospect for you there, but maybe more chance in the HWT? Certainly the 500 is low hanging fruit
Good that you enjoyed your birthday...

Yep -the 60-64 category is almost impossible to get a British Record.
I don't fancy my chances at any, but in my eyes the easiest would be the half marathon. At least I could do the required pace 15 years ago.
First time in new category is the 4792m HOCR challenge
