A snowy day, and I'm sure it will be beautiful once the sun comes up! Blue sky appears doubtful, however. A couple of days ago, we had some spectacular ice crystals following high winds mixed with a little snow and brrrrisk temperatures. Our winds generally are from the north, and naturally the landscape is more shaded on the north. So, there I was walking the Goldens....had to stop and take some photos of the crystalization, especially on the markers placed to guide the path plows...almost like an ice brush! Crazy cool ! Timing is everything!

It's a conjunction...and not the kind that lurks in the distant memory of 4th grade English classes!

The first full moon of 2025 - known as the Wolf Moon - will brighten the night sky alongside Mars on Monday 13 January.

Skygazers will be treated to a spectacular show as the planets appear to be close together in the night sky, an event known as a conjunction.

In parts of the Americas and Africa, the Moon will eventually hide the red planet completely for about an hour.
