I am back. I was dealing with a medical issue for most of 2024 that prevented me from doing any rigorous exercise. But that has recently been sorted out. So now slowly ramping up my exercise and was able to post a time in this month's CTC competition (albeit slow). You know you have been away for far too long when you can't remember the password to this message board or to log-in your time :-) But I plan to again become a more consistent "lightweight" contributor to team competitions and challenges going forward.

My wife Linda is doing fine. She had her own medical issue a couple years ago with a broken femur, and has not exercised with the same rigor since. But I will see if I can get back into the rowing saddle. Hopefully she'll regain the competitive bug again of trying to keep pace with Anna Rae Green :-)

Marc - So happy to see you back on the CTC page to get Boat 3 floating. I was wondering why I hadn't seen the Voorhees name for a while. Glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. Please tell Linda that it's "game on" - any time she feels like getting back to it.

First training session in three weeks due to severe cold, christmas holiday, etc
Where is my fitness gone? Got the CTC in today. I thought I could easily catch Sabrina. Well the tank was empty, HR went through the roof and I missed her by one meter

Happy New Year to everyone around the world.

Glad you were able to get the CTC in - Thanks to that I see we are only one person away from filling Boat 4. Our lightweights have found their way back - so we just need one more person (heavyweight or lightweight, male or female). It would be a great way to end 2024!

Happy New Year to all!

Good to see you back bassongirl!

Simple piece for the January CTC, a straight 5K. Anna and I have had a go at it already. Let's get some boats floating.

welcome Peter - we need all hands on deck at the moment!! We have always been an inclusive team so just go for it.

I have just done my first "hard" 5k @2:05.7 in about 4 years I think to float the first boat so quite pleased really. I have optimistically set a goal to race again by the end of the year with a 7:20 2k in mind. Nothing like dreaming but if I say it out loud it sounds feasible.
Happy New Year to all!

Thank you for the welcome. I just gave the CTC a try. I managed 19:26, which is a SB. A promising start of the year.
