had a second try at the CTC tonite and managed to knock 11s off last time.
Kept the long ones @<1:55 and 4 @<1:50
Terry was @1:56 to float second boat
Nice improvement, augers well Lindsay, and Terry always impresses.
My own struggle is less explainable than yours, with no physical constraint!
Anyhow, still got some form and wee power but no stamina to speak of.

After finishing the 30.000m yesterday for week 3 of Dog Days Challenge I was pretty confident to complete the whole challenge. But todays positive corona test (first time ever, working as a general practioner
) smashed that hope. I'm totally wiped out
Who is finishing?

Hope it doesn't hit you too hard.
I am done week 3 and am going to try to squeeze out the 40,000 for week 4 in the next 5 days (leaving for holidays on Sunday). I'd be in better position to do that if I didn't have to work the rest of the week as well.

Hi Team,
a quick intro from a new member: I'm Renato, born in 1984. I did some casual rowing on erg a while ago. But now, when I moved to Portugal, I want to do rowing more constantly, so I started with C2 challenge and now hope that being part of this awesome Team will give me additional motivation in future.
I've just gone through the new member's guide (separate thanks for that document) and I'm just getting into all these team-related topics, so might be asking silly questions.
P.S.: as I can see, many of Team members are native English speakers, so I beg you pardon for my pidgin English in advance.

Faz de conta que estás em tua casa, Renato. Bons olhos te vejam! I am getting my head around the thought that you may be proficient in two languages, possibly more? I muddle thru with only one (and a small stack of phrasebooks).

Smart alec!
I won't even try to translate that. I'm having a hard time trying to learn a little Italian so that I can make myself understood when I visit my daughter who now lives in Italy most of the time. I envy multilingual people.

Italian is eezee! Just gotta remember there’s a piano on every floor of your hotel and don’t order a “latte” if you want caffeine with your glass of milk. To get anywhere in Italy one must ‘ascendere e discendere”. This is equally true of the Apennines, Dolomites, Alps, walled cities and broken lifts.

Hey Sheena, or do I have to say Dr Sheena?
It's always good to see someone within reach. This month I won't fight back. Although I'm feeling better my husband told me I'm not allowed to do any rowing training at the moment. Well I have to admit that he's right

Welcome to Renato!
I've just wrapped the Dog Days of Summer Challenge. Congratulations to all the Flyers who also completed it.
It's almost the end of the month and we are only two rowers away from floating a 4th boat on the Cross-Team Challenge. Rick and I are already in it as the L and F - so only need two more bodies (any category).
I'm heading away for a couple of weeks - but I'll be back in time for the Team Challenge which starts September 15.
See you in September

Congratulation!
I rowed my first session since one week. Corona infection didn't have the devastating effect I was affraid of. No negative effects on my HR. Rowed 8k UT1 without any problems.
I won't complete the challenge but reached the 100.000m in august.

I did finish so technically a Dr! (But not the useful kind!
)
Hope you feel better soon! I know several people who have gotten covid lately and it seems to have been mild so fingers crossed! I have somehow still avoided it but feels like my luck will run out soon and spectacularly after not getting sick for a few years now
September’s CTC sounds like it will be rough, perfect for a little competition when you have recovered

Hi all! I'm a new member. I'm 48 and have been sporadically using my rower for several years but recently have found the time to start using it more. I only just today discovered that there is an app, and this forum, and the logbook, and teams, and challenges, etc. I have always just listened to audio books and rowed and never realized there was so much more. So now I hope to take advantage of some of these nice features. Thanks for this open team that allowed me to join!
