Another travel day yesterday, so it's a two-fer...kind of like your Challenge meters right now!

WEC Challenge ....alas, some slippage, but only 200K separates #10 and #12 12th position overall ! Thank you to the Lunie WEC Challenge Team for making this so!

Image March Madness Continues!

The Mudness Challenge claims some late victims (and victories!) every year. We have several Lunies who are clinging to the honor board by their virtual fingernails! Keep going, Lunies! You got this!!

March Mudness Finishers!

Today is day 27 of the Challenge....and RING THE BELL !! We have four MORE Lunies on the finishers' roster!

5K: Congratulations to Gene, Cornel and Wild Bill and Gary !
10K: Congratulations to Cornel, Wild Bill and Gary !

April Fools' Challenge
April 1–15
Join us in April for a streak challenge with a difference. To take part, you need to row, ski or ride every day for 15 days from April 1. Each day, however, the distance you need to do rises. On April 1 you need to do at least 1000m. On April 2, you need to do at least 2000m, all the way up to 15,000m on April 15.

The Details...that's where the devil is as they say!

Row, ski or ride at least (but not necessarily EXACTLY) the correct amount each day from April 1 through to April 15.
April 1: at least 1000 meters
April 2: at least 2000 meters
April 3: at least 3000 meters
and so on up to at least 15,000 meters on April 15
Note: BikeErg meters are counted as half when applied to the challenge. So on April 1 you have to ride at least 2000m. On April 2 at least 4000m and so on.
You can combine meters from different machines, so for example on April 8, you could do 4000m on a RowErg and 4000m on a SkiErg.
This is an individual challenge. There is no sign up. You do not need to belong to a team to participate.
Meters must be entered online.
Note: RowErg, SkiErg and BikeErg meters only.

lol, Klingons don't have it in their constitution to panic! Well... maybe a little. Thanks for the explanation K2.

Also, thanks to K2, and danwho for inspiring the pic I pieced together and the great feedback!

Post by Kona2 » April 1st, 2023, 10:01 am

Image March Madness Concludes!

Happily we have all the Lunies who were stuck on the outside of our galaxy wandering rocketship back inside following a long, long Challenge...one that was not necessarily fraught with peril, but required greater discipline to complete than we all sometimes want to deliver! 26 Lunies completed the 5K, and 11 Lunies completed the 10K and are enjoying the satisfaction that comes from finishing what you set out to do. It's all about keeping a sort of promise, an intention, a goal that you made for yourself. Good work, Lunies!

The Concept2 Universe overall numbers are:

5K: 3,032
10K: 956

Thanks, K2, for cheering us all on! You already know this, but I thought I'd share my own little Mudseason challenge.

I usually take this challenge on at the 10K level, but knowing that I was going to be restarting chemo this month, I thought I'd go for 5Ks. A few days in, I decided I might be able to do more, so I started my own little 5K/day walking challenge. My primary care doc keeps telling me that all my rowing is very nice, but I really need some weight-bearing exercise. Yesterday I completed my 25th 5K+ walk (plod?) about town. I got to meet every dog in the neighborhood and check out everybody's spring bulbs. It felt good.

Whoooooooosh! That's the sound of you and your erg(s) flying through yet ANOTHER month!

WEC Challenge ....we're still in the lucky ELEVENTH position overall ! Thank you to the Lunie WEC Challenge Team for making this so!

And, today marks the start of the April Fools' Challenge....another Challenge that is an insidious daily meter creep upwards....it seems so EASY...at the beginning....

April Fools' Challenge
April 1–15

Our special April Fools' Challenge is a streak challenge with a difference. To take part, you need to row, ski or ride every day for 15 days from April 1. Each day, however, the distance you need to do rises. On April 1 you need to do at least 1000m. On April 2, you need to do at least 2000m, all the way up to 15,000m on April 15.

You don't have to do the entire distance in one workout, and you can combine meters from different machines. BikeErg meters count for half, however, so you'll need to do at least 2,000m on the BikeErg on April 1.

Incredible achievement! You've been challenging your body and willpower every single day - and while I know that you wished you had thought of doing the walking 5K from the start of the March Challenge, you STILL completed 25 days of 5K...met all the dogs, and checked out the bulbs (which sometimes have a mind of their own). That's 280K total for the month amid a restart of chemo!
