Are there any suggestions on how to handle elbow pain? I can ride either of my "real" bikes for 100+ miles day after day with out any pain in my left elbow. I'm not even 5 hours in to the Fall Team Challenge and I'm already getting elbow pain from previous nerve damage. I'm going to have to bow out if I can't get this fixed immediately.

Taking measurements between your "real" bikes and the bikeErg, may identify an ergonomic variance. A photo measuring app might be handy for that.

That's the first thing that comes to mind anyway. Nerve pain can be brutal, I feel your frustration.

I eliminated the same kind of pain in my right elbow by changing my grip on the handlebars from a thumbs-down palms-down grip on the central cross bar to a thumbs-up palms-in grip right at the outer curves on the crossbar. Just imagine shaking hands with the sides of the handlebars then sliding your wrists slightly inboard.

Worked for me.

I like this conversation - I would even ask your favorite bike shop if you can bring in the erg for a "bike fit" and see if they can help you out. You put so many meter/miles on the bike erg that there has to be some slight difference that is a BIG factor. Maybe even film you on the bike erg so you can take it in to the shop if you don't want to take the actual erg. You're a data guy - so what are all the angles that the bike shop measures when you're in the cockpit of the bike?

Fall is not just for the Fall Team Challenge. It's also Fall football! Friday Night Lights - can't remember how long it's been since attending a high school football game on a Friday night...but it's been a LONG time. On the way to the game, we were treated to our own Colorado version of Friday Night Lights...(I wasn't driving, promise!).

53 Lunies putting us into spot 13 on the leaderboard! Concept2 doing a good job yelling at all of us to get onboard!!

Back in the days of science projects, you know, the ones where somehow the WHOLE family has to get involved, there was the owl pellet science project. Pretty sure this was elementary school. My thought at the time was "why can't she pick something about planets, or volcanoes." But no. It was to be the owl pellets. So off we went looking for owls. As you all know, I still look for owls and enjoy seeing them in the greenbelts along the trails. At some point, we found owl pellets. They even sell dissection kits for these things, so that we can all learn about what owls eat (or rather ate) and what the owl food chain is. Mostly I figure it is bopping field mice on the head.

A couple days ago, walking along the path with the two pups, we came upon owl pellets. Plural. Leave it alone preceded drop that! Looking up into the cottonwood tree, there was the great horned owl. Must've had a tough night because it even had its head tucked under. Today, more pellets and sure enough...owl back in the tree. Lots of trail walkers walk past the "mess on the sidewalk" not knowing that right above their heads, the mess maker is taking a snooze...kind of cool to know that kind of stuff. Better now that pellet dissection doesn't have to occur.
