LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Team Progress Thru 8.31.22
Whoooooosh!!! That's the sound of you and your erg(s) flying through yet ANOTHER month!
Two weeks, Lunies, until the Fall Team Challenge begins ! Not suggesting, directly, that you clear your calendar (we reserve that for our favorite Challenge...the Holiday Challenge), but you could start building your meter base. Concept2 has adapted some of their Challenges to reflect a 100K and a 200K meter level...and some of you have just completed the 100K (and more) required of the Dog Days of Summmmmr Challenge. Still - it's good to plan in advance how hard you're going to ask your body to work. You can make that easier work by building your meter base. We don't have any set requirements for meter amounts - that's something you can choose or not. Many Lunies do things like add an extra 15 minutes to their workout time during a Challenge. That amount can generate a lot of extra meters. It also can burn a lot of calories (Halloween candy is already on the shelves..). For those with techie devices that measure how fast you fall asleep, you will be zooming into Dreamland quickly. And be guilt free for eating like a Viking.
When the new ERG DATA app was rolled out, I wanted it to be more shiny. And colorful. I still want it to be more shiny and colorful, but have come to appreciate its functionality and ease of use. It is much easier to tap connect to get it to connect to the PM monitor - and entering what workout I'm doing is a lot easier. Now a whole new avenue of use is being brought forward. How MANY of us signed up for those daily emails with the workout of the day...and then took a look at them, but didn't program them into the PM monitors? Betcha you didn't do a lot with it either for the most part. Now, we have a brand new Challenge, the WOD (unlike another three letter W acronym) Challenge. Participating in this WOD Week Challenge might just convince you to add a shake up your routine workout into the mix...with a single tap.
WOD Week Challenge
September 5–11
Take part in a week of different workouts in our new WOD Week Challenge! Concept2 releases a new Workout of the Day (WOD) every day. For this challenge, you just need to complete the WOD on at least five days of WOD Week. The WODs will not be announced in advance, and could be anything from short, sharp shocks to longer, more endurance-based pieces. We hope you’ll join us in this challenge. Please read the details below carefully before you take part.
How To Participate
Anyone with an Online Logbook can participate in this challenge. We recommend using ErgData where possible to do the challenge. The WOD is available directly in ErgData and can be programmed on the monitor with a single tap.
The Details
Complete at least five of the seven daily Concept2 WODs in the week between September 5–11
Workouts must be entered exactly as prescribed. Workouts must be uploaded by apps like ErgData or the Concept2 Utility. You will not be able to enter workouts via the Logbook webpage.
You must do each WOD on the correct day.
This is an individual challenge. (You do not need to belong to a team to participate.) But the Lunies say it is more fun to belong to a team.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I think Lola gets it!
Baseball in person has some wonderful moments!
No secret that I'm a baseball fan...so when an article entitled "The trumpets sounded, and Diaz delivered" arrived in my inbox this AM, naturally I wanted to see what was happening. Appreciate great players - and they sure can't all be on the same team (although the Dodgers are trying). Last night's Mets game was in the 9th inning. The Mets had a 2-1 lead over said Dodgers, and so Mets closer Edwin Diaz was called on to get the last three outs. Now when you're in person at a game, you get to hear all the walk up songs that the players have and some of those songs are SO perfect. I'd never seen Edwin Diaz walk onto the field to take the mound, but his entrance music is "Narco." This is a very distinctive in your face kind of music that sparks confidence in the team, and a saunter in the pitcher. Last night though was an international night. Aussie musician Timmy Trumpet was brought in to see his first Citi Field Mets game, and he played trumpet live. The stadium was rocking, and what a lot of time Edwin Diaz was given to warm up (well, just four pitches...but the whole thing lasted a few minutes). It was electric, and it is one of the reasons why I love baseball. It's drama. It's life's joys and disappointments, and it is theater!
Here's the clip: I hope you can watch it.

We are in the Time Between....between Challenges, that is. Perhaps checkout the WOD part of the Erg Data app before, you know, the WOD Challenge actually starts. So, if you are more like the mountain biker who LOVES the surprise element of wahoo! there was a really big downhill on the other side of the hill I just climbed, you may not feel the need to check out the WOD first. Others will like knowing what is ahead! Choose your path!

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
After a long and foolish interruption to my rowing, I am so glad to be back. This is my first time back on the Luna-Tics team room for over a year - astonished and delighted to learn my morning's workout got the team onto the WOD board! I've no doubt that other Lunies will join in, with much faster times, too!

Just a note about the graphics we sometimes embed in the daily (well, mostly daily) postings. We're limited to 9 urls or other image designations unless they are the itty bitty ones that we can get by right clicking and see emoji pop up...tiny little things. So. Choices often have to be made about what to highlight...in case you're wondering. In previous C2 forum iterations, I could highlight MANY. Not so much now! In fact, it says the maximum number of URLs allowed is 10...but it's 9.
WOD Challenge: day 2 of 7 !
Having a bit of trouble with the sort function on the WOD Challenge honorboard - I can see that Adam and Ian have both completed the Row Erg WOD for today! Good work! Can't sort through the Bike Erg, and no results for ski erg that I can see.
