Congratulations Shaun!
"NASA's next-generation big rocket is about ready to finally get off the ground, and now we know who will be flying on the Artemis I mission that's headed to the moon. Well, sort of.
The European Space Agency announced Tuesday that Shaun the Sheep, the famed stop-motion British TV character, will be aboard the first flight of the new Space Launch System to kick off the Artemis program, which will eventually return astronauts to the surface of the moon."
Wasn't allowed to say anything. Should be quite a trip!

Are they going to allow you to bring an erg, so that you actually row to the moon and back?

Still under discussion. Might need an erg coach!

I survived RAGBRAI. Took a rest day and felt really strong on Monday. Knocked out a 90 minute BikeErg session at an average of 270 watts. My previous best was 60 minutes at 280 (or 285, I forget) watts. I'm going to do a 60 minute FTP test soon - and hopefully hit 300 watts average!
Wow, Zach!! Those BigErg stats are pretty impressive, but RAGBRAI--454.1 miles over seven days of riding on outdoor terrain (across Iowa) and climbing 11,954 feet--now that't seriously amazing! I had to look it up, which is why your accomplishment didn't immediately register. Congratulations!!

Well, I'm pretty sure I typed "BikeErg" and didn't notice that it had morphed into "BigErg". I hate when that happens. They were Big Erg stats, too.

Thanks! RAGBRAI wasn't too bad. We had absolutely perfect weather for late July in Iowa. Mid to low 80's during the day, getting down into the low 60's / high 50's at night. We had roughly an hour (!) of rain in the early evening on one day. The most difficult part of the week, for me, was finding vegetarian options - RAGBRAI food vendors lean pretty hard into serving meat-based meals.

A trifecta of events that are being celebrated by Lunies today: Happy Birthday to Minnie, and bg (our birthday "twins"), and Happy Anniversary (45!!) to Norma and her husband Ed! I can hear the champagne corks popping all over the Lunaverse!

This is snort-worthy scatalogical humor...made me laugh!
Meanwhile, on the olfactory front, BOTH dogs were skunk sprayed last night. Once again, this is never at the most opportune time...and they always get it in the head. Fortunately, the temperatures outside were warm...and the deskunking kit was supplied. A "fragrance" still emanates from them, and their rolled leather collars will have to be replaced. You knew it was a WHEN, and not an IF.
39 Lunies are on the Dog Days Honorboard so far....and you still have today and tomorrow to meet week one's 10,000 m requirement! You got this!!
