Hey team! I'm still around, but the last 2-3 weeks all of my free time and energy and muscle soreness has gone to a big project in our backyard. We've been extending our patio, and my wife is on a lifting restriction, so that means I've gotten to lay each of the 1300 paver stones we're laying, on top of getting all the paver base down and level, all of the dirt work and removing/transplanting the sod, etc. Thankfully I should be able to wrap it up tonight or tomorrow, then my reward will be being able to set up and fill our inflatable hot tub to go on the patio . Next week, I'll jump into the team challenge to contribute some meters, then get back into the rowing flow.

I'm having issues embedding a screenshot, so here is a link instead https://imgur.com/a/ZIYODFh (for those who do not trust links, very wise in my opinion, it is just a screenshot of my log showing I did manage a palindrome yesterday, 7,777,777 lifetime metres!).

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to take a break from rowing from 21 October, my left hip has become so painful I can no longer postpone the inevitable, and have to have it replaced. My physio had told me to keep off the rower to avoid further damage, but there is no need any more, and suprisingly after the first 5 minutes or so the clicking stops and I feel pain free (until the end of the row, anyway). If that was all I could live with it, but I'm limping a lot of the time, so best to get it over and done with. I know what to expect, I had the other one done in 2010. So I should be able to complete the Fall Team Challenge, but count me out of the Skeleton Crew. I do hope to be back for the Virtual Team Challenge though...

There's a definite volatility to the rankings for the FTC ! I'd like to say that this will change soon, but it may only get a bit more intense! The team joining comes to a nice halt tomorrow. That's the good thing. The more difficult to predict aspect then begins...because we all know that the second half of the team challenge is when we pour it on. Clear your calendars! Well, as much as you can do...but if this were the Ryder Cup...as Tiger says, Step On Their Necks. As they will be trying to step on ours!
