My lungs were burning after the 500m. Had a little cough the rest of the day.

Great work Brett...! You know you've had a solid workout when you get that feeling. Cheers, Baz

Hi everyone - just wanted to let you know about a major milestone for me! Yesterday when I stood on the scale I discovered that my BMI had dropped below 30 for the first time in at least 15 years! This means that I am no longer obese - when I started rowing a few months ago I was "Class 2" obese. Now I'm nearly 50lb lighter, and loving it! While I am still a bit overweight, I'm still working on it - and confident the all this moon-and-back erging will get me where I want to go.
Woo Hoo!!
Congratulations!
Good luck on continued progress.

This is excellent news. What is important is what this effort does for your health, mental and physical. Be patient and steady and trust how you feel. No need to fixate on any numbers, whether they be meters or lbs. Sustainability and consistency, not a volatile and potentially dangerous roller coaster ride that soars to an awesome height only to collapse, is what you should seek. This is the best report I have seen on this Forum in a while. It makes me want to reverse my tentative decision to change Affiliations. Thank you for sharing the happy news and congratulations. Whoop, whoop and there's no stopping her now! Well, that's probably been true forever. Congratulations, Minnie, on achieving yet ANOTHER FIVE MILLION METER erging season! I think this is the third in a row for a bike and rower contributions (3.8 MM bike, 1.2 MM rower). We wish you many, MANY more celebrations and milestones!

Week 2 of the Tour De SKierg is progressing...and our 3 Lunie contestants have all completed the week 2 challenge...the "ski sprint" of 500 m...this is that last bit of the Birkie when a competitor is right THERE on your ski tips and you are dying as you swing over the line....sorry, got carried away there with drama. But there IS drama with these events, and our ability to put our minds and bodies into contest mode (accelerated heart rate and all) is maybe part of what good training is about. Congratulations to Brett, Jantuut and Patrick Hsr on completing the second week of the Ski Challenge!

And now for the other heart pounder Challenge! The Valentine's Challenge has 23 Lunies on the Honor Board, representing those who have completed the 14K (plus a lot sometimes) requisite to access the secret Concept2 valentine stash! Congratulations to the 12 Lunies who completed this Challenge yesterday and today:

Robin, Ron M, Eric, Minnie, Tombeur, Ed, William C, JD, Kellee, Teresa R, Jodi, Brett...you'll all be able to give your valentines away saying "I earned this just for you!" :D

Some of our teammates are also participating in the Military Challenge...I've not gone through the lists, but know that AJ is participating for sure.

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations:
