Whoop, whoop, and this one looks like a FIRST EVER...and we love FIRST EVERS! Once you start adulting, it gets a bit harder to find first evers that you want to shout about from the rooftops - but finishing off a half marathon is surely one of them. Robin's been steadily attacking some ranking meter sessions in the last week...first a 5K, then a 10K and then...well, why not! Go for the moon! Pretty good sized leap from 10K to 21,097 m, so am guessing it was not without some GRIT. Congratulations, Robin, on your half marathon! We wish you many, MANY more milestones and celebrations!
Woo Hoo!
Congratulations on finishing an HM!
That is is long row.

Thanks for warm welcome and the encouraging environment.
It was one heck of a row for me, and a first ever half marathon of any kind. robin.

Thanks, Brett! Always in favor of changes that keep a bike erger on the bike steed! And generally when one person has a question....there are several who have the same question!

And we would never have had the "conversation" if Thor hadn't shared his thoughts on the seat! Good man, mighty Thor!
Well K2, you know, I am a pain in the ...
Very interesting. We ordered the Bikeroo which is made in Canada Supposed to arrive by Sept 14. They had 5 in stock. Well, 4 now. It was very expensive at 150 CAD. It better work.
Geez. Hopefully you'll decide a comfy read end is priceless.

Hey, if it keeps me in the saddle a lot longer then I consider it a bargon. Right now I can only handle about 20K. K2 basically told me I have to join the half century club. Hard to say no to the great K2.
A buddy sent me this today.
"I watched the CrossFit games from Dubai where they featured all three Concept2 machines and afterwards most athletes could barely walk. Wow great workout." End of his message.
Back to the Mighty tender tush Thor. I am finding the bike really pumps up the legs like rowing never has. Some day I'd really love to get my furry little paws on the ski erg torture device and give it a go. I like being on my feet so it might be a lot of fun for me.
Keep on rock'n and roll'n.

I've gotten back into the habit of using a heart rate monitor while erging. Yesterday, I did 30 minutes on the BikeErg - 218 watts average, 82 RPM, 137 BPM HR, 15.5KM traveled. I did 20 minutes on the RowErg over lunch today (didn't have time for more) - 216 watts, 18 SPM, 165 BPM HR, 5KM traveled.

I'm forced to draw the conclusion that ancient mariners should have instead been bikers.

I hope I didn't mess anything up by editing out lots of info.

Well K2 I am a good doggy in completing the Dog Days. Perhaps that's why the furry little paws. Grin. That's my story this time.

Janice is liking the bike pretty well I think. We are still waiting for this new saddle.
Given two shoulder surgeries in a year (one surgery each) she isn't able to row yet. I told her if she gets her third shoulder done I quit. Man, I'm tough!
Janice decided she can no longer live without a dog. Her pup will be born in a couple of months. Another litter didn't workout so she is on a waiting list. It will likely be a rather large boy. German Shepard. I will save his name until I have pics to share. I promise you will love the name Janice has chosen. I will be responsible for the grooming and setting a bad example. The rest is up to Janice.
Most days I've been doing about 8K on the rower and 16K on the bike back to back. I am working on burning off some fat I've picked up along the way. I haven't done much about social distancing from the fridge yet but I appear to be thinning out some. I will adjust the food stuff as needed later on.
Keep on Rock'n and Roll'n.

I'm A Meter Millionaire!!!

Post by Kona2 » August 28th, 2020, 10:49 am

Whoop, whoop and I got it done! After a blockbuster May and first week of June, there was a bit of rebuilding capability time...and surprisingly, when I look back at my logbook...only two weeks where I couldn't put in any meters. Felt like longer! Anyway, I'm happy to report that I have erged ONE million bike meters for the season...and hope to get many, MANY more. In fact, hope to get some rowing machine meters completed too.
Hooyah and keep the faith.

K2 - number 14 on the meter millionaire list this year!

This is it! The dogs of summmr await your completion of the Challenge! It's the last day to get the 40K requisite for week 4 completed. You CAN DO IT.

Meanwhile, the aspen are starting to change colors on Squaw Pass - a popular route for the road warrior cyclists. It's a loop that has about 4500 ft of climb built into it. Uff da. But we know that means fall is coming, and that means the Fall Team Challenge. Get ready to row, ride and ski or combos of any of these. When next in your logbook, take a minute to scroll over to the Teams heading, and then down to where it says Fall Team Challenge on the right side of the page. Click "Join The Challenge" so you can be a Lunie Fall Team Challenge participant!

While rearranging the posting yesterday, I inadvertently erased William H's name and Chip's meters. That backspace key can create havoc ! The spreadsheet keeps it all correct, but I like to get it right on the posting, too. Chip had 10,007 m and William H had 6,776 m...a palindrome! I will confess that I was multi-tasking while doing the posting...my nephew was graduating from Army Basic Combat Training (aka Boot Camp) at Fort Jackson SC. There was a live virtual ceremony that Fort Jackson provided - sure couldn't really see Martin (I think there were 647 guys and gals on the field) but can honestly tell him that I watched - and was delighted to see him finish what he started. Have a niece and a nephew who are both Army, and a godson who is Air Force.
