So good to be erging again. I also got the heart rate monitor which gives another dimension to erging. Being able to keep track on the read out monitor makes it so much easier over the old days when I'd try and position my cheap "work out watch" to keep track. Half the time it would lose the signal mid workout. I'm so glad to have my erg but sorry the delivery kept being pushed back causing me to miss out on the Dog Day Challenge. My initial shipping date when I got on the wait list 5/30 was July 24th. Will make it up on the Holiday challenge. Hoping to work up to a 1/2 marathon in a few weeks. Been way too long since my last one.

There's nothing quite like a new erg that's your very own! Consider it a well deserved purchase, and use it a lot! When I am out of town and using commercial gyms, I'm always surprised at how spoiled I've become in having my own ergs. It really highlights what some of our teammates have to do to earn their meters - because sometimes there's not enough room to store your own erg - although they do fold up into a fairly small footprint. The PM5 connections are quick. And never fear about missing out on a Challenge....there are MORE just around the corner!

Welcome to another new teammate: Sherri ! We wish you many good erging sessions, and much good camaraderie!

The Dog Days Challenge continues: week 3 in progress, and winding down! Get those meters finished up!

She will probably like the Holiday Challenge - you earn your reindeer at 100K, antlers at 200K, flashing harness at 300k (it’s like extra credit for the extra goodies in the season).

She Moons Us...Might Be A First EVER!!

Whoop, whoop, and this one looks like a FIRST EVER...and we love FIRST EVERS! Once you start adulting, it gets a bit harder to find first evers that you want to shout about from the rooftops - but finishing off a half marathon is surely one of them. Robin's been steadily attacking some ranking meter sessions in the last week...first a 5K, then a 10K and then...well, why not! Go for the moon! Pretty good sized leap from 10K to 21,097 m, so am guessing it was not without some GRIT. Congratulations, Robin, on your half marathon! We wish you many, MANY more milestones and celebrations!

Teammate Dennis often rows 13,431 m - and I finally asked if this number was significant in some way other than being a palindrome. He replied that it was a numeric "device" that allowed him to generate an extra 10K every three days that he rowed this amount. Sort of like earning a day off but not giving up the average meters. Every so often, I use this meter amount to take advantage of earning that 10K extra! So if you find yourself short on days available, you might consider this strategy - keeps you from having to put in a second full workout on a subsequent day.
