A member of an indoor rowing team or club? If so, this is the place for you.

Can this one team row to the moon and back?

I wasn't aware that there was a 6,000m ranking so have never tried specifically for that distance row before yesterday. The problem with this fact is that I find that I'm a bit competitive (usually against myself, but sometimes I check out the rankings of others with my same age, weight class and such) and with that in mind I looked at the rankings for other women who rowed and ranked the 6,000m distance. I was dismayed to find that I was #10 of 11 in the U.S. and #23 of 27 for women my age in the world who have ranked a 6,000m row. With that said I just know that I'm going to have to improve on the time that I posted yesterday.
My husband would say, "That's great! You're #10 in the U.S.!" But I would have to point out that there's only 11 of us competing.
Ah, the joy of owning a rowing machine. It keeps me active and competitive as I near 60. I have no complaints. I got it for Christmas in 2010, so next year I'm asking for a PM5 to replace my PM3.
Competition is a big motivator for some people. I fall in that group too. Being a competitive person doesn’t necessarily mean you’re “competitive” in the rankings. I can work my way into a top 10 overall total meters for a month long competition if I decide to push myself. The competitions based on speed are much harder for me. Finding myself just in the top half of my sex/age/weight is thrilling.

In case it's convenient for anyone, here are some direct links to the Spring VIII boat standings (mens and womens). It's still early in the action, and you need 8 to fill a boat.

Yes, I submitted a women's boat. It's Lunatics EAGLE. And no we can't see it - or any other women's category boat. Why is that??? I have submitted another request for support.

Well, I, for one, can't wait to hear "The Eagle has landed."

Ditto! I definitely remember that it wasn't there in the initial setup...
Jan (aka K2/Kona2) had the wisdom to capture what was initially (viewtopic.php?f=29&t=7369&start=25755#p490724)
Maybe they can/will change back... 18k isn't even part of the ranked distances...

Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. You can't even rank an 18km piece!

Dear sweet baby Jesus !
Zach that is a terrific pace!

Did they change the challenge for week 3? I swear that was like a 4minute piece.... this 6k was not fun, 18000, I’m not liking that at all...

But then again, no gym, nothing to do but work and row...

Boy howdy! I've never even rowed 18k in one sitting. It was definitely 4 min as recently as 2 days ago. Oh well...might as well give it a shot and hope for the best. Might need to over hydrate to plan for the tears.
