Here's to the New Year. A, perhaps boring but quite refreshing, Tanqueray and tonic w\lime would be a welcome joy to bring in the New Year.

Great job Danwho- I'm glad you filled in this year - my internet just came back after a thunderstorm knocked it out for several hours. Hotspotting from 10-forward is like snail mail from space. Happy new year everyone!

On an even better note- I will be moving back with a new job in Texas or North Carolina. I told them either place is fine just bring me back.

Happy relocation ... I'll just bet your family is thrilled, no matter where your job may be, Stateside! You might even find yourself close enough to danwho to collaborate on graphics and poetry.
So happy to hear, Ed! Bet it might be hard to fit in those 33,333 m rows now.

Thanks Norma! You are correct on the 33333 for the most part... will get a few in though.

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 12.31.19

Post by Kona2 » January 1st, 2020, 10:22 am

It's a two-fer Challenge for all of January! Sign up for your individual January Revolution Challenge (and do we pick a goal that we know we can accomplish or one that truly stretches us?!?), and join in on the Virtual Team Challenge.

As of this moment, the Lunie virtual team is just waking up from reveling at the team party. The good news is that we're on the meter board, but further down the list than usual. Lots of opportunity throughout the day to get your erging session in...

Meanwhile, grocery store shelves all over the US (in particular or peculiar, take your pick) have been emptied of cans of black-eye peas. This is possibly the only time in the year that this happens with these cans of legumes. It's a tradition in some households to have black-eyed peas on the menu for New Year's Day to broker for prosperity and luck throughout the year. Why do we do this?!! Some say we eat round foods for luck because they resemble money, or long noodles get slurped because the length symbolizes long life and luck. Whether it's tradition or superstition, we do it because ... well, it can't hurt to factor it in among all the unknowns. Whatever your tradition for the start of this New Year....add in another one...erging!!

Whats up - I'm Ben (Benjamin)

Soon as I joined the team, I hurt my back (its already bad to begin with lol) during a row and had to take a long break.

Now I'm back. Just in time for some challenges.

Will be aiming to hit this 5k every day.

I'm fat... broken... but im addicted to telling myself I will not die during my row. But god dammit I will walk the line of it and consequently feel the most alive when the erg has me closest to death.

Wish I could do longer sessions, but my foot falls asleep around the 17 minute mark without fail. Doesnt seem to be much of a solution for this - probably a combination of an already bad back and weight?

Regardless lets kick ass

VTC Update

Post by Kona2 » January 1st, 2020, 5:34 pm

What a difference a few hours (and a lot more teammates finding their ergs this day) makes! We're leaping up the leaderboard...and I'm pretty sure that Brett must be going for a 100K day. Way to rock the meter chart, Lunies!

We have quite a few Challenge team members who aren't year round teammates. Thank you all for joining in the Lunie fun on the Challenge team!

Here's a link to the VTC results for the Lunies at this time: https://log.concept2.com/team/2537/vtc/2020

All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 1.01.20

Post by Kona2 » January 2nd, 2020, 10:05 am

Day 2 of the Virtual Team Challenge finds the Lunies ranked 11th. There's less than 100 K difference between multiple teams, so expect a lot of fluctuation in rankings throughout the day. In fact, high volatility will exist all week. Buckle up.

These Challenges always offer up an individual component as well. Teammates often choose a personal goal to stay in the top ten percent of all participants. Today, you'd need greater than 22,000 m to be in that group. Brett and Joerg of the Lunie Challenge team are both in the top ten percent of all participants. Do what works for you.

Welcome new Lunie teammate Michael G! We wish you much good camaraderie, and many good erging sessions. 166 Lunies on the roster!
