Image 7th place...84 Lunies !Back in 4th during time it took to post!

Right now, a mere 25K meters separates four teams in the 4-8 spot of the Challenge. Add a teammate, erase a deficit...erg a few more minutes, and collectively erase a deficit. Once the bigger gaps are established between teams...it is tougher to mount a Challenge (but not impossible to succeed). Those seeking to be in the top 10 percent of all participants would need to have greater than 35,000 m in their Challenge meter piggy banks. Out of the 4500 Concept2 universe members registered to participate, only 3420 have actually entered meters. Opportunities abound!

One of the good things about a team challenge is that you can not only give the team a boost with an extra meter contribution - you can also reach some personal milestones at a really good clip too! Every little bit helps...short erg segments add up!

Thanks very much! This doesn’t get any easier as I get older

My 8-year anniversary of logging meters is coming up on Dec 1. I'm hoping to hit 22 million lifetime by then.

After 14 years with my current employer, I start a new job on October 1st. I PROMISED my wife that I would keep my challenge meters in check this year, so I'm restricting myself to 125k/week. It's so difficult to not shoot for the moon though!

Congrats, K2, on 2MM bike erg meters. Just think what you'll be able to do after the knee surgery!

Shooting for the moon is always fun...but try to stay with shooting at Earth's moon! Seems that you were quite zealous last year....gave us ONE million Challenge meters....and it sort of took over your life! We'd like to keep you around! And congrats on the new job!

I wasn't sure how hard I could push myself this challenge. I figured out that I need to dial it down a notch. Have a short trip to Cabo 1st week of October anyway. Getting older sucks. My body feels decent for the amount of meters I've put in - a little sore but not bad at all. The problem is just my general energy level isn't recovering and my mind is foggy. Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Image Day 6 of 31...and we're in 6th!!

Must be the Across The Pond time difference effect! In the mornings we are at spot 6, and by evening we are at spot 4. About 100K separates spots 4-6, so meter onward!

It does indeed take more effort, and more gradual effort, to get back into shape as we advance our ages. If you've been out of erging for awhile, build your meters slowly and take care. I have had to ramp up more slowly than I would like after being out of erging for a few months on a consistent basis. Doesn't seem right that regression happens so quickly, and rebuild takes much longer...but there it is. Staring us right in the eyeballs.

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights...Celebrations: Nothing like a Challenge to increase our milestone rate!
