All it took was Thor's statement "rowing at night" and I immediately thought of Thor working away at his new novel....Rowing at Night. Had to force myself to the catch up on the numbers task at hand. Whew. Glad that's done.
A compelling story about an eccentric private detective who never leaves his home and solves the most complex mysteries while rowing on his C2. How can the Mighty Thor connect such clues relayed to him as: candle stick, library, butler, iPad and of course the daring beautiful mistress of the mansion? Thor solves the crime that has befuddled to local police for weeks. All while rowing with his stunning blue eyes closed and sweat rolling down his chiseled naked upper body.
K2, bet you are sorry you opened that can.

Oh, and Goooooooo Loyola!!!
All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 3.30.18
Day 31 of 31....THIS is the LAST day of this Challenge!!
If you've been waiting to make the muddiest statement of your Challenge, well this is the day to do it! An amazing decline in the total numbers happened yesterday. One assumes that Concept2 cleaned up the numbers of seemingly hanging on ergers. The total 5K participation level fell from 1526 to 1182 with total Lunies going from 31 to 26. What a drop! Then, in the 10K counterpart, the numbers fell from 579 to 480 in total, and 16 to 14 in the Lunie bin. Yes, the survival rate calculated from peak participation is only 9 percent for the 5K group AND the 10K group. Lunies still fared much better - about 43 percent survival rate. Wow. Wow. Wow. Shocker (even if HISTORY says this will happen, the burgeoning numbers at the beginning of the Challenge made me wonder if we'd discovered True Grit in the erging community). The answer would be a resounding Nope. Can't wait to do the full wrap up in the next few days.
Another big team update bounces us down again...but we've got resilience...
Another episode...bunny trails of the mind...
Whoa. I started looking for a John Wayne True Grit poster (as opposed to the Jeff Bridges remake of True Grit), and before I knew it...I was down the rabbit hole! We've talked about grit and how you need it to get through some of the erging goals that you pursue. Work hard, remain committed to your goals and persevere through struggles and failure = grit. One writer said that gritty people believe "everything will be alright in the end, and if it is not alright, it is not the end." While that might sound like part of a John Lennon song, it actually goes back to a Brazilian writer - Fernando Sabino. I enjoyed the TED talk by Angela Duckworth, a gal who has done a lot of research into why some succeed better than others. You might like it too - it's about 7 minutes worth of talk.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Well, I almost missed the muddy finish. Yesterday I was supposed to do the last 5K but I was rather ill. I managed it today. I am fine now though. So, Janice and I got the 25 days in.
A buddy asked if I would join a team for dragon boat. I was on a team for a few years and thought I retired. I will know on Monday if they still need a couple more people, if so, looks like I'm back in a boat again. Frankly I prefer getting pushed around the lake in my boat with 40 horses. Oh well, that too shall come. The temperature will go up right?
Have fun all and Keep on rock'n.

Whoop, whoop and FINALLY! Congratulations to our resident artist AJ on achieving a ONE million meter season! AJ's total meters have been sitting at 999,990 or something REALLY close to one million for ages. Now, he's crossed that milestone and we can add another achievement to his many. We wish you many, MANY more achievements and millions!

K2's Branding
This aint no foolin.
I am about the worst at crossword puzzles. Janice does the LA Times every morning and inflicts unnecessary pain on me to play along. Well thanks to K2's branding of my personal self.
4 letters.
Clue, god that has a hammer.
I never would have known who that was if it wasn't for K2 naming me Thor way back in the beginning when I joined this team. I had to look up what Thor even meant. Ok, now I confirmed I'm not the smartest kid in the row boat but I'm cute. Grin. Now watch the comments, I do have a hammer you know. And a big hammer it is. So they say.
Have fun and happy Easter.
