CTC on the rower tonight:

1: 3108m @ 2:24.7, 25spm
2: 3119m @ 2:24.2, 26spm

Really poor. Had decided to go for 2:20 throughout the first interval, but after 5 mins, legs were really tired and shortly after, put the handle down. Decided to carry on at a reduced pace - 2:25 - and managed that to the end. Just feeling really down on power. At least it's an entry.
Row: 500m 2:04.7 | 1k 4:19.4 | 2k 8:55.4 | 5k 23:13.7 | 6k 28:43.9 | 10k 49:31.8 | 1min 257m | 4min 908m | 30min 6,328m
Ski: 500m 2:18.8 | 1k 4:58.8 | 2k 10:01.6 | 5k 25:59.7 | 10k 52:44.7

Thanks Henry. High praise indeed from a ski erg WR holder! Until told otherwise, I’m assuming you like my reasonably-controlled and dignified [slow] 1k? If you meant that I’m a dab hand at circling embedded links that’s OK too.

Paul, a half hour isn’t a 2’ thrash you can fake with adrenalin. So you picked an overly-optimistic pace target followed by a pace reduction and a decision to follow thru that you stuck with for a long 25’. You also rated up after the interval to put the average pace of the second rep within a half second of the first. Kept your head in the game. Good on you!

Yes Paul the success in this one is two pieces as close as possible so a positive result.
Jack I suspect henry is referring to your promotion of our entries in the Challenge but kudos as well for a well done 1km
Will start logging tonight - would have forgotten

15 March and lunchtime in Sydney. Yum! W.E.C. makes me think of the beef on weck sandwiches to be found in Buffalo NY and the towns on the western stretch of the Erie Canal. Veeeery salty!

I am not sure how lunchtime in Sydney leads to a regional speciality in Buffalo Jack but I like the look of a Weck - not xrossed path with one here. The caraway would work really well with the beef. What really works here is a Vietnamese style bahn mi or Chinese yum cha - we are in a very Asian part of a very Asian city.

A sandwich—sliced white, rollup or rice paper—is good. Hard to fight with your mouth full.

Rick, how on earth have you clocked up 515k in 2 days of the WEC?

Oy! In my haste I apparently didn't hit the 'tab' button hard enough after logging my 5,100m and the first two digits of my time, 22, got added to the meters making 510,022m. I've got to learn to proofread more often.

Too bad, it would have put the FF in great shape compared to other teams. I've corrected it.

510,022 meters in two consecutive days. At 2:30 av pace would require 42.5 hrs. Not much time remaining for life support essentials such as shower, shave, shoe shine, brunch in the solarium! Possible but not probable result of metre madness.

Carel is a member of same OTW club as me. A real endurance athlete. Last sunday he did a 60 km session on the erg. If he improves on technique he will be even faster. Nice guy, really fanatic and huge stamina.
