LOOKING FOR A TEAM TO JOIN

Post by polish prince » March 8th, 2018, 11:01 am

Live in the U.S., Kansas to be exact.
Looking for a team to keep me going, new to the sport.
Recovering from hip replacement, was active kayaker, fishing and touring, trying to stay in shape.
Have had my "boat" since first of the year, try my first challenge with the mud season.
I'm 58 yrs old, a heavyweight and paddle in my basement.
At this point in time, I set my pace boat at 2:12 for my workouts which alter between 5000m, 10,000m and just row for 30 min.
I also smoke cigars...but not while I'm rowing.
Let me know if you're interested and have an opening.
Thanks,

Polish Prince.

You're welcome to join the Luna-Tics team. We're called that because our goal is to row enough meters to get to the moon. We're a team made up of all sorts of ergers: most use a rower, but many use ski-ergs and there are a couple of bike ergs in there now as well. We're quite supportive, and have a bit of fun with all our meters. Take a look at our forum postings under Teams: this is today's post. viewtopic.php?f=29&t=7369&p=436877#p436877

If you wish to join, when next in your logbook, go into your profile and scroll down to affiliation. Then select Luna-Tics. We currently have over 100 team mates, with 50 fairly active throughout the year. There are those who put in 1000 meters, and those who regularly do half marathons (we call them half moons) and beyond. We know we're not for everyone, but we are worth a look!

I too am looking for a team to join. Specifically in order to participate in the upcoming March 15- April 15 2018 World ERG Challenge. Is this Luna-Tics team participating in this challenge and could I join?

Thanks,

David

I'd suggest the Forum Flyers would look after you very well particularly with that challenge.

Polish Prince, I second Rod's motion. In my prime as a runner many of my peers dubbed me the Polish Rifle (a name that Ron Jaworski subsequently stopped using and went to Jaws. Because of me? Who knows? ), so it seems only right for us to both be on the same team, the mighty Forum Flyers.

@ Polish Prince and David:

Forum Flyers do the monthly Concept 2 Cross Team Challenges (perfect test bed for heavy HIITers who live for hard sprint efforts) AND the C2 seasonal challenges. Strong interest and participation in indoor rowing comps. All are welcome.

I third that - very welcome at the Forum Flyers - long standing international team with people from all over the world - no Poles yet but we can claim some Czechs! We are part of all the challenges.
