Yup, the Wednesday special was my lunch (and dinner) today!

K2, it's a 40.5 mile trip on the Missouri River from Washington, MO to the Blanchette Landing in St. Charles. Distance always varies slightly due to being in or out of the channel, water level, tandem / solo canoe, etc. Dodging a barge requires addlitional distance and time, as the channel (faster water) has to be vacated / right of way given to the barge, then dealing with the wake and reverberating waves. Was hoping to break 5 hours, made it in 4 hours, 56 minutes, eclipsing my previous PR by 9 minutes. Many good paddlers are faster but it was a good effort that took a lot out of me at the time. Will take a few days break before getting back on the water...

That sounds like a really fast finishing time to me. From what I have read, that's not that far off some of the very fastest. Awesome PR.Image

Congratulations to Ed for an amazing 1 MM meters in the month of May.
And congratulations to Steve W on completing 5 MM lifetime meters (I'm right behind you. Two more rowing sessions should get me there!)

Many thanks for the congrats! And the Shaun flock dance never fails to lift my spirits.

I won't be rowing next week while I undergo medical tests so it was good timing for the super lucky palindrome.

Wait for it.......Whooooosh! That's the sound of you and your erg flying through ANOTHER month!

Might be a few two-fers today since I am late grabbing the numbers. Wasn't a super golf outing, but did see a pair of cormorants (usually only see one)...so that was cool. So many good things environmentally with some of our courses - Audubon certified. The other thing I saw, but don't have the photo yet, was a giant tortoise. Saw these in AZ, but this was surely the biggest one I've seen in Colorado.

I'd like to add my congrats to everyone as well, and with some of the crazy meter amounts posted for the first month of his season (I barely managed to creep over 80k for May but with plans for it to get better). Wishing everyone a great second month!

So if you wearing a Fitbit on a skierg, does it qualify as a duathlon :D ? Very funny!

And here I thought I just had to worry about snakes and stuff when looking for a lost ball ! Ha. He was headed out of bounds....or she. Wowzer. They live a long time, and I hear that the hatchlings will be out in the fall...yikes.

June is storming in and Lunies are still pounding the erg meter...pretty low resting heart rate Richard. All those meters must have made for good cardio along the way (which is the point...). The Fitbit does have some quirky things about it. It may "ski erg" better than it gets "indoor rowing machine." Used to frustrate me big time to do a half marathon and get credit for 9000 steps instead of a gazillion. The flights of stairs thing is even funnier in golf and bicycling.

ImageImageImage Image Million Team Meters !!!

Whoop, whoop and what a team! We've reached another milestone for the 2018 season....TEN million team meters in 34 days.....simply amazing!

Image Speaking of BIG meters, the Summer Solstice Challenge will be here before you know it! From the Concept2 Challenge Calendar:

Summer Solstice Challenge
June 21
In honor of the longest day of the year, we invite you to participate in the Summer Solstice Challenge.

The Details
Row or ski 21,000 meters on June 21.

Meters can be rowed/skied all at once in one workout or over several workouts throughout the day.

If you add 97 meters to row/ski 21,097 meters, or a half-marathon, it needs to be rowed/skied all at once in order to qualify to be a ranked piece.

Indoor rower, SkiErg, on water and on snow meters count. You can combine meters to reach 21,000 meters.

It's National Trails Day here in the US, and there is sure to be SOMETHING cool going on in your locale! So if you're up for adventure today, get out there! You might encounter the Pie of Opportunity or the Flying Saucer of Possibility when free ranging your Bunny of Exuberance...especially if using your Eyeball of Observation.
