The top teams have become very strong, even if we perform at 100% max we can,t match those numbers. Which in itself is a good thing. The high level I mean.lindsayh wrote:it is early in the month but nice to see our Boat 1 "on the podium" for a while - well done guyshjs wrote:Good going guys, nice to see you guys having fun. Re: Forum Flyers
Yesterday I skipped weights, with visite over I started with wine, thats always no training for the rest of the day.
So today relative fresh. So why not get the ctc out of the way?
2k wu 152.7/21 with 500 148/24 ish
500 slow paddle
Sesh 7 min sets with 5 min rest. Rough goal 141 ish. Drag 125
1 2076 141.1/27 rated a bit low to begin with
2 2077 141.1/28 not easy. Last 30 seconds faster to get on track
3 2090 140.4/29 was a tough rep, but kept going ok enough. The last minute was faster. Ended 1.27 ish. Not 100% sprinting though. No real point.
4 bonus rep. Not done a 4x2 this season, so added a forth one. 1.45 goal. Started 1.43, at 500 slowed to 1.50 tired and slowly did pick it up, last min did jusy enough to get 2001 meters in. Rate 27
Cd 10 min 2500 meters.
So ctc is 2076 meters 141.2 accourding to the site mats. Good enough, certainly no 2td go.
141.8 for the 4 reps,
140.8 for the first 3.

Aerobicly yes, I have more or less erged 5x a week seriously in one stretch over a year, except a few holliday weeks and have not been sick. It feels a bit strange and I even think it could be a bit better stilllindsayh wrote:that is a great CTC - you are in rare form at the moment Henry - I thing the best I have seen in the years I have been here.

Are we automatically enrolled in team challenges? I couldn't find a place to join so I logged 1m (which I'll make up ) and saw that it got entered towards challenge.

As a team yes, but individual members have to enroll themselves, like you did.SelfWillRunRiot wrote:Are we automatically enrolled in team challenges? I couldn't find a place to join so I logged 1m (which I'll make up ) and saw that it got entered towards challenge.

Lot of argybargy on the ISS board concerning admissibility of ski-erg, dynamic, and on-slides times for CTC and other erg games in which FF involved. Where (or who) is the support for inclusion?

Why not? Its only meters, what does it matter which machine.jackarabit wrote:Lot of argybargy on the ISS board concerning admissibility of ski-erg, dynamic, and on-slides times for CTC and other erg games in which FF involved. Where (or who) is the support for inclusion?

The vox populi vote totals today are 48 for, 52 against. I voted against because the ski-erg limits leg involvement to keeping the trunk off the floor.hjs wrote:Why not? A well, if you think te ski erg does not use te legs, you will get a cold shower if you try onejackarabit wrote:The vox populi vote totals today are 48 for, 52 against. I look at it much simpler, its a c2 machine. And meters mean almost zero to me, so I really could hardly care less. Quantity without Quality doesn,t speak to me.

Re: Forum Flyers
Ive only been erging about twice a week lately due to an upcoming Jiu Jitsu tournament so I had a question as to what our team is really focusing on, the C2 challenge or the CTC? I can do the CTC challenge one day and then a longer piece another day to satisfy both but just thought I'd ask.

Adam, my focus is on the seasonal challenges. Saving up enuf juice for the CTC is not. I enjoy a good bout of exercise cough every so often and am willing to help the lwgt ladies and children fill boats.
Henry, your condemnation of meter chasing in a post nominally addressing the acceptability of cross country ski simulators in a comp for rowing simulators suggests strong support for an "absolute" threshold of performance which isn't being met by meter munchers such as the one I'm most familiar with--ME! What is the threshold that makes your substantial yearly total admissable to C2 records as "quality" meters? My current threshold is 45% 2K Watts. Too low? 60%? Please let us know.
