yes and keep them all about the same - push off too fast and the last will suffer, leave too much in the tank and your first will be too slow.
Maybe one to do a couple of times to see what is possible.
Good training effect for 2k as well.

BTW the site is not right yet - only allowing to enter time rather than meters which means everyone is equal!!

I did good! I didn't see the pacing suggestions until this morning... lol so I went out a little hot but I'm very pleased I was able to hold on close to 1:50

Funky entries! Someone should reset the counters to reflect the terms of the challenge. Or do it as a one off on April 1.

Hey don't get me wrong I'd love to stay in the top boat haha!
I don't understand the scoring though, how come Forum Flyers meters are 1862 and we're in 6th but Free Spirits has 1832 and are in 2nd place?

5k pace minus 1 ish. Your current real 5k.

Just calculated my last 5k pace. I rowed it in 20:08 and ran that through the pace calculator on the ISS site and came up with 2:08. That sound right to you veterans?

Chris, our recruiting success with the ladies is suboptimal at the moment. Melissa Boswell from Oz is a great addition to the team. We need more like her! A bit of talent scouting helps float boats including yours (hint, hint)

Adam, should be 2:00.8. So according to our Dutch uncle, try 1:59.8. 2:07 wouldn't be a "challenge" for you!

Doh! Ok I submitted my worst time which was 1681. I'm going to try this several more times throughout the month. I'll work on 1:59:8 pacing. Learning so much here.

Chis the boats are ranked by average meters but not in place until all 5 in the boat so Free Spirits boat is full and ours needs a lady which will change the average and then it can be ranked.
Don't worry there will be more entries in soon.
Very nice 1:42 by Jeff - that is smoking along.
Melissa is really keen - did >100km in Jan and loving it. Ex Dragon Boats with shoulder problems so can erg but not paddle.

This is fun. I will definitely start to wear my recruiting hat more often. Should be able to shave a second or two off my splits before month's end.

Ok, pulled 1774 for my worst today. Big improvement from yesterday and way more of a challenge. I will inquire about getting some women involved as well.
