Am I correct in assuming the challenge is how much distance we cover, or how much power we generate in each 7m interval?

The link is a video of Pfaller? What does that have to do with C2CTC challenges? lol
Thanks Henry, I checked the C2CTC website but saw that the homepage was still displaying the rules for the 5000m January challenge.

Meters we cover in the slowest rep.

We row 3x7min with 5mins rest and only submit the worst 7min piece?

You got it. Its on the site now I see, c2ctc.com

So if you do 1900 meters in rep one, you only have to do the same for the next two. If you pace it right you just can reach the numbers in rep three with an endsprint.

5k pace minus 1 ish. Your current real 5k.
