Coming up in February - there are 3 challenges
- Tour de SkiErg - The Tour de SkiErg runs from February 1–29 and features a different event each week.
- Military Challenge - The Military Challenge invites all able-bodied and adaptive athletes who are or have been in the military to row or ski (indoor rower or SkiErg meters only) as many meters as possible during the month of February. I think Team TimbukTOO will lose a few members during the month of February - hope you join up with us again in March.
- Valentine Challenge - The goal is to row and/or ski a total of 14,000 meters between February 09 and midnight on Valentine's Day, February 14.

Ok, tooting my own horn. In the past three months, I have managed to increase my overall average weekly meters from 35K to 50K. A drop in the bucket compared to Heather Hummingbird and Ray who are leading TimbukTOO, but still it is nice to see progress on something I set my mind to.

Just passed 14 Million lifetime meters. It took me 4 years, 2 months.

There are many millions of my meters lost to antiquity as I rowed them before the Internet was invented .... but since I started back up in late Nov. 2011 I have logged them faithfully.

Today is the last day of the VTC - no worries, there are 2 rowing challenges in February (Military and Valentine Challenges) and a SkiErg challenge too (Tour de SkiErg).
The final day to enter meters to be included in the VTC is February 3.
I'll post today's meters tomorrow and our final VTC post will be after 2/3.

Whew.....I barely made my goal of 100k for the VTC. Had to get in a late afternoon session in order to reach it. Glad I was able to reach the goal and help the effort despite a crazy start to 2016.

As for the rest of the team, I'm truly amazed by many of you as far as the # of meters rowed. Great job!

Way to go, everyone! What a fun-filled January! Jim, I had to laugh--I too rue all of those precious unlogged meters. I guess I started erging back in 1997 or 1998, and fairly religiously, too. I didn't buy my own Concept 2 until 2003 or so, and I wasn't faithful about logging, either. Now, I log daily, as well as keeping an Excel spreadsheet where I keep my goals.
