New virtual team - all welcome

Post by Micro Dot » December 27th, 2015, 4:58 pm

Hi
I'm a newbie. I would like to join the virtual team challenge in Jan for motivation but need some team members.
I've set up a new team - Desk Jockeys - aimed at those of you who spend most of your day stuck behind a desk.
Please join me, all welcome. I'm a complete newbie and currently unfit so anyone is welcome.
Thanks

Hi,
I just got my "D" for Christmas and have spent a good chunk of the day setting everything up. I'm new to rowing, too (haven't done it since freshman year in college) and am really looking forward to doing the challenges! I'd love to join the team if you'll have me :D

Happy rowing!
Alie

Just completed today's Medium WOD, plus a little. 6000m in just under 45 minutes, with two short breaks and stopping long enough to grab a drink of water. I'd say pretty good for a newbie :) Feeling great, can't wait to start the Challenge!

Sooooo...what's our team name? Who's the cap'n? Have we registered yet?

I did today's medium WOD and logged 5326m total. I have to read the rules for Challenges and logging numbers again. I know we have some time to get the team registered.

Happy New Year!!

I would like to join your team. I just finished the Holiday Challenge and I am looking to continue the momentum. I definitely fit the team description.

5803 meters today.

I was able to link on and post my meters. Thanks for starting the team. Sunday is my off day. More meters to come on Monday. Keep rowing!

Wow, I really should learn to slow down when I read...I just realized Micro Dot gave us the name of the team already  so sorry!!

Took yesterday off but will be back today for the long WOD.

BTW, if you are doing a WOD from the main site, switch your rest interval to an appropriate number of meters to row at a light pace, rather than a set time. We may as well get credit for the rest meters as well!

Is it too late to join the team? I am getting started again after a year off and need some motivation:)

Signed up - brand new to rowing. My C2D should arrive in a day or so, I think I'm too late for this months challenges but hopefully I can get some inspiration by watching you guys go for it :)

You can double check the official rules in the Challenges aection, but iirc, official teams need to confirm participation by the 16th. I don't know if the system will let you join but you're certainly welcome if you can. Your meters may not count but you will benefit from the motivation!
Welcome!

Hello -

I am new to rowing as well, started with the new year and have found I like it quite a bit. I am also a "desk jockey" so fit the description and since we've all started around the same time I have joined your team :) Hope that is ok.

Looking forward to the next team challenge! I am going to try the "Mud Season" and would be happy to help with the World Team Challenge
