A little TimbukTOO history. We were organized in February 2008. Out of the need for a seasonal team following the virtual challenge .We had a variety of rowers..young and seasoned ..young and new..and some elders..me included.
I began rowing back in the mid 90's and have logged well over 22 million meters. Many meters not logged.I am a retired RN and a certified personal trainer.I am a Canine Coach,Foster mom to furkids who need help, and I volunteer at our local humane society and wear many hats.I am Floridian and even though I live near the ocean I do all my rowing on my erg.
Thanks for joining us and hope we can all motivate each other and just help each other to overcome plateaus and erg on in an energetic and positive fashion!

Hi Pat and team TimbkToo, thanks for introducing yourself to us. I became motivated to row and start paying more attention to my health immediately after being diagnosed with non hodgkin's lymphoma (nhl) in 2012, it was a wake up call, and I had a concept 2 in my basement within a month of my diagnosis. I quickly developed a passion for the great benefit I felt from rowing and realized there was a whole community of people that share the same passion. 2 years of treatments for my nhl has brought my blood counts to almost normal levels and fortunately I feel strong and healthy, unfortunately one mosquito bite and I'm in the e.r. within a day if I don't get on antibiotics immediatly. It has been a quiet start to the new season, but we've been hanging around that # 10 spot for overall meters which is great. I've been a part of this team for close to a year now and although we've lost some leaders I've seen some new faces and welcome to everyone for this new season, lets inspire each other to better health.

Hi Doug!!
Nice that you joined us and that rowing has been so rewarding. It is a great way to get in shape. When I began my rowing..it was back when rowers were not a popular piece of equipment in gyms.I rowed on one that never got used and incorporated rowing into my female clients training plans.Oh how they despised me and yet they had tremendous results. My husband then bought me a Concept2 rower for my home gym. That was back in the early 90's and I have earned a lot of really cool prizes from Concept 2 for all my meter accomplishments.Rowing is now a huge part of CrossFit too and those who used to sort of laugh at me for all my rowing days are now rowing in their CrossFit Gyms.
I hope more of our team join the intros and that we can motivate each other and just row!!
No need for a captain..we are all in this boat together and each of us will lead the team..to whatever victory we choose.Good health, weight loss, bone strength or just longevity!!

I just have not seen you post so didn't want to create a demand.Lisa left the ship.I did row with her on this team at times..she was awesome. She will be missed!

How is it going TimbukTOO? I have been getting off to a slow start this season. Sorry we lost Damselfly, she was such a great teammate. Is Cap't Izzy still at the helm? The forum has been pretty quiet. I finally passed 3 million lifetime meters this month. Welcome to any new teammates who've joined the boat! Happy Erging all!

Finally passed the two million meter mark. Don't know if there is anyone left out there, just had to pat myself on the back. Ha!

I figure we're done or waiting for a rebirth. That likely requires someone to take some initiative. I don't honestly feel the desire myself. We had a good run. The bar was set pretty high.

Things are usually slow at the beginning of each season, but this is getting ridiculous.

I will share that I have been focusing on low SPM in the 18-20 range for 30-50 minute rows three or four times a week, while keeping my pace below 2:00/500m. My meters are way down from a couple years ago, and I would like to get them back up soon, but work and life keep interfering. I also need to get the SkiErg up and running again, but that is HARD WORK

Welcome back Yolanda and David! I hope you both have a productive season! I hope your knee stays healthy, David.

And lastly, it is very good to see our Hummingbird blazing through the waters at break-neck speed! way to go, Heather!

Have a great 2016 Season, all!

Hi, everyone.

Is anyone going to row the Summer Solstice Challenge tomorrow?
I don't think that I will be able to since it's Father's Day.
Btw, wishing a Happy Father's/Grandfather's/Uncle's Day to all who celebrate.
