Awwww little ol me earned bragging rights. I feel special. :D

A quick update on my back and neck pain. Just last Monday I was told I should consider quitting rowing for a while and to go see a physiotherapist. Basically my chiropractor gave up trying. I couldn't get in to see a physiotherapist until the 26th and I didn't want to wait that long so I looked up another chiropractor and found one that does sports rehab. I thought all chiropractors could help with sports issues but I guess I was wrong. I saw the new doc last Wednesday and I spent 20mins telling him about the pain and the treatments I have had such as massage, acupuncture, cupping, electrotherapy and chiropractic adjustments. With different people too. That concerned him and thought it might be more than a muscle issue. Until he had me lay down and began to stretch my neck a day upper traps. He sat me up and said that I am genetically muscular. And that makes me prone to tension. And because of my desk job my shoulders roll forward putting tension on my neck and traps giving me headaches and muscle pain. He said that I do not need to see a physiotherapist because they will just tell me what exercises to do to fix those muscle imbalances and since I know how to workout that I just need to focus on strengthening my back and stretching and having him stretch me too since he can force a deeper stretch fir me. He said I have the perfect body type to be a good rower. I left that day feeling so much better. He could not believe I was told to quit rowing. I have seen him 3tkmes and I feel amazing compared to what I have been going through. I'm still tight but no pain and I have more mobility. I cannot believe the difference in his treatments. Compared to my last chiropractor. Even though it seems as though he is just stretching, giving me acupuncture and adjustments its working and his positive outlook is really helping me get out of the depressed state I was in. Although I don't think I will.be ready for the 2k on Feb 1st I think I will now be confidential in training for the one on Feb 28!!!! :D

I am so happy for you Grade A #1. Um, that's meat isn't it? oh well. You are comprised of meat too so I'm not too far out of line.
I was rowing on a model B I think it was. The foot plates I believe weren't set as good as they are these days. I was getting knee trouble in my good knee. I talked to a doctor and he said that rowing is Repetitive and therefore maybe not the best exercise. Ok, I asked him what form of exercise was not repetitive. Haha Do we hear duck noises? Some time I will tell you folks about when I saw an eye doctor. Hehehehe
If you tend to be one for tight muscles then learn some stretches to help. Tip, never stretch a cold muscle. Muscles are elastic. So do a slow warm up and then hop off for some stretches or stretch after you are done. When you are going in to the stretch, just move until you can feel a gentle pulling. Never to the point of pain. Now here’s a great trick. Ease off just a bit. Breathe in and as you breathe out relax and go back in to the stretch. Repeat that breathing thang. You will be able to go more and more. PM me if you want more on certain stretches. The glute or butt is one of the harder ones to stretch and I have some great stretches for that. Ok, enough hogging of the screen for me. Grin.

In the jungle...the mighty jungle....the game is still afoot! Beware swinging vines whilst (got that one from Baz) you maneuver your canoes. And in some cases, it's RAPIDS....dead ahead. Not to mention the dreaded whirlpools that can pull our native Lunies right out of the boat. These Challenges are not for the faint of heart or spirit, and fortunately we have a good supply of both.

Image Day 23 dawns in the bubble universe....

Image Ever notice how the "Ancients" in movies like Indiana Jones stuff are always either wise elders with incredible strength or aliens? Well, the Earth-bound Ancients are besting us again. Perhaps we had an off day yesterday...we need to feed those meter piggy banks ! As of this morning, we're tracking towards a 22.2 MM projected finish - which fits our palindromic efforts.

Jim K has earned his bathtub again, and we have several who are getting closer to theirs. Danwho...I have seen the Danwhovian caricature, and you can, too, in 99K or so. Rick C has earned his canoe as has Dennis D., and Karyn has earned her canoe upgrade to Paddle Class. We still have 9 days, counting today, to get meters onto the boards. To the ergs, team, to the ergs!

Looks like it will be TOO CLOSE TO CALL for the race between New Haven and TimbukToo at this time. Mere meters separate the two teams. Prepare for a photo finish!

Image Day 24 of 31....are we still at this?!

For those aiming for the middle of the pack, meters earned must exceed 54,100 ...for those seeking the top ten percent....it's greater than 195,000 m....and the top 100....well, you're going to have to produce greater than 380,000 m.

New canoeists are AJ and Larry A! Also, AJ had a caricature for Dennis D so am posting his canoe, too. And, looks like Marty has earned a canoe upgrade.

Feel better, Jim. And congratulations on your bathtub!!

Congratulations also to Joe T, and, oh wait, also Marty, Dennis, AJ, and Larry. Zooming right along.

And nice to see all the lucky palindromes. I'm in the middle of one at the moment. After the first segment, I decided I needed to shave off the sweat buildup on the handle. And thought I'd sneak in a little forum inspiration for the rest of it.

Well I finally hit my first Million. Um, that’s my first ever million not my first for this season. I aint that good. Grin Almost half of it rowed in the last few months. I think I will try the XL shirt and hope it fits. Some large fit and some don’t. Just for fun today I increased the drag to the full 10. This bothered my thumbs of course but it was fun watching the meters go by quicker. I tried a slightly different grip to see if that would help. I think It may have too. I closed up my fingers and held my thumbs against my hands. This was after they were hurting so I will see the next time if it keeps it from hurting much. I usually have an open grip with my fingers apart and my thumbs sort of out to the sides and I never grip with my thumbs. I even thought about taping my thumbs to my hands but doubt that would work after the sweating starts. Besides, that’s just too much effort. So I will close things up and see what happens. I am strong enough to handle the extra drag, just got to get the thumb thing worked out.
Thanks again to all you Lunes to help guide me along with your amazing support and setting such wonderful examples.
A special thank you to K2 for your daily updates. I read them all.
