Time for a lesson.

Ending a Sentence with a Preposition

At one time, schoolchildren were taught that a sentence should never end with a preposition. However, this is a philosophy actually associated with Latin grammar. While many aspects of Latin have made their way into the English language, this particular grammar rule is not suited for modern English usage.

The other word with which "part" rhymed - heart - is what needs to go out to those poor schoolchildren with raw knuckles & sore bottoms whose severe punishments will now be for naught, if you have your way!
To assume it must have evolved from Latin grammar because the brilliant, thoroughly reasonable prepositional rule happens to be in both languages would be committing the logical fallacy of post hoc ergo propter hoc.

Thank you for inquiring about the wife. She is doing better and we learned that the cause of all this was the contraction of an e-coli infection which shut her kidneys down. Very scary stuff. Her recovery will be long but insurance came thru with a wheel chair allowing me get her out of the house and enjoy the season which we both love so much. Thank you so much for the support, she will eventually be better.

Despite Gene & Lily taking their dollars with them yesterday, bringing our "in the money" people down to an even forty, we still ended up on the cusp of $300, over 74% of our goal. Concept2 only reached $25,386, which is 84.5% of their stated goal. (Last year, they squeaked over the $30K mark.) This is only a semi-final total, as additional meters sometimes dribble in after the challenge finishes.
Great job everybody! As a team, we almost doubled last year's total!
