Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I thought I posted my FTC goal, but I don't see it anywhere. My intent is to exceed 200k, so that is my commitment. Last year I think I projected 300k for one challenge and was disappointed when I could only muster 280k. I find that to be ludicrous and so, I may be sandbagging a bit, but my goal is to over deliver and not let myself be disappointed after busting my tail for a month. So 200K is my projection.
Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I see my ship mates have quite lofty goals for the fall!!
I have no idea what to aim for, with some travel plans and work interfering with my pirate ways!.
I'll toss out 100k and 'paddle' like mad so I won't have to walk the plank!
Congratulations on all the milestones people have been reaching!! Sooo great to see this!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Hey Lisa, you can put me down for 175k for ftc. I will be in Santa Barbara on vacation for 1 week so I'm counting on finding a rower, and getting some meters in while I'm there. I hope 24 hr fitness will let me in for a reasonable daily rate.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Some great rows today preparing for the FTC. Basically I rowed for a little over 5 miles. Did two time trials at 500 and 1000 meters, setting personal bests in both. I shaved 4 tenths of a second off of my 500 meter time. I cut much more off my 1000 meter time (over 7 seconds) but that is more reflective of how slow my prior 1K best time was. My new times are 1:46.4 and 3:49.5 respectively, I'm happy with them, but know that I can improve on them both. My next time trials will be 2000 and 5000 meters, although I haven't set a time table. I realize I still need to do a lot of training to improve and newd to plan my approach carefully. By the last 100 meters of the 1K I was flaming out, and the same may be true for the last 50 meters of the 500k.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Thanks Lisa. The part I am really happy about was on the 1000 meter row, I kept my average stroke rate down to 27. The positive feedback and input from teammates here really helps too.damselfly wrote:

I have been doing intervals, and my best tomes are good, but if I go truly all out my next 2 intervals are dreadful. I have to try the pyramid soon too. I am thinking I need to go 85% for the hard interval and then about 65-70% for my recovery intervals. I haven't read up on it, I am really just guessing on what my rest rowing level should be
