Thanks Bobbie and Lisa! I look forward to the FTC and just need to remember to actually use the erg so my meters count.

Dodgers@66,
I'm 6'5" and cut down to 165 earlier this year. Much like Izz mentioned in his post, I put on 10 pounds for my race on Saturday and have now started trimming those off again (an almost effortless process after reading a book by Gary Taubes).
Six Bridges was by far the best regatta I've ever attended despite it having only 40 entries (as compared to 823 at the last race in Austin). They were sincerely happy to have us there, had great support from the community, and are blessed to be on a really beautiful river.
Flipping a quad is quite an accomplishment. Do you still train in a larger boat or do you spend time in a single? I prefer the camaraderie of a 4X, but it is a much different (more violent) rowing style so a 2X is probably my favorite. The 1X is really a mental game and I can understand why so many rowers avoid them.

Hi there, I've just joined the team for the Fall Team Challenge + to get some encouragement to get up to my own personal target of 1m by the end of the year. Look forward to adding some meters to the total!

Welcome aboard Paddler  We have a couple of weeks to gear up before the challenge kick off on the 15th. Personally I've not yet completed the half marathon challenge which is my kick off goal for the 15th. While doing the Winter Solstice Challenge my numb butt was the only issue

Welcome aboard Stephen, and welcome back Gary D! I love fall -- all the rowers come in from their various summer activities and cuddle back up to the rower... :D :D :D

Arrr, no one likes a smart-arrrrrse pirate. I'll have ye bound t' the mast and flogged, I will!

I shall put ye down fer 177k, as me system don't deal with no fiddlin' 387 meters...

That's an extra 19.7741935483871 meters per day. You're a right slave driver, you are. I'll see what I can do.

put me down for 225K.
i still get a kick out of the legend behind TimbukTOO and TimbukTWO.
And it still occasionally throws me for a loop.

Welcome aboard to our new members!

I hope those of us nursing injuries mend up fine.

And I hope our members who have fallen overboard- or who have gone on shore leave- return safe and sound.

We will keep our lamps trimmed and burning-- as we row through the dark night.

I have also joined your group. I'm from the sunny side of Washington State, and look forward to having an active rowing fall with the gang.

I'm sending my child off to university this fall and should have tons of time to get rowing! I used to row as a teen and bought a C2 this summer to relive my youth!!

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Where is the best place to look for a schedule of upcoming indoor rowing competitions?
