After an unplanned hiatus (out of town, family coming to visit, general summertime busyness) I've got a lot of catching up to do!

First of all, congrats to all the million meter milestones hit since I've been gone. Way to row Steve G, bg, and Ron!

Secondly, happy birthday to all you summer birthdays! (I'm a summer birthday too, but this year isn't a milestone year for me)

Lastly, loved the picture of Rocky! What a lucky dog to get adopted by you. The song Rocky Raccoon has always been one of my favorites, since it takes place in the "black mountain hills of Dakota"

Yes, many thanks for the good wishes. It's been a fun week!
I must now embrace these Dog Days, to balance all the birthday eating and drinking.

Was a tournament weekend, but I do have the numbers. I see that TimbukToo has absorbed the OD team, and they are now pushing for the next rung in the ladder. The Luna-Tics team occupies that rung. There are many, MANY things I could say. Rock on Lunies - we continue to challenge ourselves and support each other. No drama, just karma.

All In A Bunch of Days: Team Progress Thru 8.10.14

Post by Kona2 » August 11th, 2014, 12:27 pm

Image SUPER Moon....extra erg power for us !!

The answers are in the stars....or at least the answer to why we call this part of the year "Dog Days" is in the stars. The “dog days of summer” were designated by the first day that the ancient Romans saw the Dog Star (Sirius) join the sun in the daytime sky, lasting visibly throughout the rest of the day and throughout the nighttime sky. The Romans would see the Dog Star beginning on August 4 and it would last visibly through September 12. So now we know. Meanwhile, the second of three SUPER moons loomed large in the sky last night. Stay tuned for the third one on September 9th.

Trying to get my first overall million meters before a specific date, but it is not tied to a birthday, anniversary or anything special. I had originally wanted to do by the end of the calendar year, but my husband threw out the idea of a different deadline as a stretch goal. Not sharing it publicly, but I can say that I am on track to make the goal. :)

We will be delighted to celebrate it when you get there...and that shouldn't take too much longer! You'll be sending in that email for your special ONE million meter tee shirt and pin (which, if it is like all of ours, will reside in a drawer...but you'll KNOW it's there...).

I've been wondering how to best display the accumulated pins ... on a baseball cap; on a long ribbon hanging from the erg; on a cork bulletin board ... I just can't bring myself to click the "do not send pin" box. (So. A drawer is good!)
