Palindromedary. I really didn't think it was a "real" word, but since we tend to recognize newly created words every year (selfie being one of this year's creations), I thought Dan W might not be making this one up. The bunny trail of the mind became the warren of the mind. And then there was Ursula K LeGuin's poem "The Palindromedary". http://www.ursulakleguin.com/Poetry-Palindromedary.html So. In answer to Minnie's question about whether or not a training partner is needed for this unusual beast, I say absolutely. After all, the rowing machines and ski ergs are keeping us somewhat physically fit..and it is challenges like palindromedary that keep us mentally fit. I think.

Whoosh!!! That's the sound of the erg and another month going by ! Hooyah! Feel the breeze !!

Speaking of breezes, there is an accessory available for the Concept2 indoor rowing machine that's called the C Breeze. It channels the airflow back to you! Several of us have purchased these items. Here's the link for more information. http://www.ps-sport.net/nonathlon/ Or you could continue to let your dog(s) or cat(s) happily lay near the wheel, catching the breeze you're generating.

Pet-sitting for the neighbor's young golden retriever...90 lbs of golden in an 18 month old dog. Whoa. Three goldens and one hissing cat - I need a bigger house! Cat hisses to say don't come ANY closer to visiting goldie. Other dogs think hissing must be the way to get visitor to stay away from their stuff, too. One dog has already learned to hiss. I did not know this was possible. Jesse the cat rules.

Welcome back to Tammy and Roger Gwinn. It's good to see some returning faces.
Well, yesterday I saw that we were almost to 11,111,111 m ....we were just 2,498 m short at that time. Thought I could get that amount done in time...but alas, I was too late ...and we had zipped by that number. But wait....we're back to 10 MM and some change. I do really try to stay upbeat about all the changes back and forth, adjusting spreadsheets, but I am so disappointed I could just go scream. See you around the grid somewhere.

NOOO! I can only imagine how disappointing that was. I like to hit fun numbers with my rows, but rarely do since I row while watching Netflix, and usually just stop at a convenient point in the show.Kona2 wrote:Welcome back to Tammy and Roger Gwinn. It's good to see some returning faces.

Speaking of pet sitting, several years ago, I agreed to feed and water a cat for a friend while she was on her honeymoon. The first day I went to her place to feed and water it, the cat attacked me and I retreated to the nearest room with a door. So I found myself barricaded in the master bedroom, bleeding from 2 puncture wounds on the leg, and no way to get a hold of anyone. For a while, I thought I would be trapped there until someone realized I was missing.

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Ah, the disappointment wasn't in that I didn't get to hit 11,111,111 m (especially since I now have a new opportunity to do so!)....it was because we had six people leave the team. That is pretty huge. I keep looking for the ransom note....hahahaha. Another one of the deep space mysteries.
