Is this for a whole year? If so put me down for 780K. I'm a newb but I think 15k per week is easily attainable for me. Can I go over? What If I don't reach my goal? I assume just bragging rights for the most meters rowed for the year between teams?

No problem! But this goal is only for the World Erg Challenge (March 15 - April 15). I can still put you down for 780k though! Nothing happens if you don't reach your goal, and yes you can go over. It's only to give each of us a number to shoot for during the challenge -- usually encourages us each to row more consistently. Me anyway!

Hi everyone. New member New Rower here. This is my second week of rowing. Last week was just getting used to the machine and learning how to row I didn't care about time or distance. Started logging this week, signed on with this team and for the World Challenge. I haven't set a goal for the challenge because honestly I have no idea. My body is adjusting to this new exercise(i.e. it's sore). At this point, my longest row is just under 7k.
I use Row Pro which with my lifelong love of video games is perfect. Throw it on the big screen, crank the radio and it's fun. As a beginner, I find the on screen rower helpful in slowing down my recovery time. It's also great setting other lanes up with my previous pace or quite humbling to set a lane up with a pace from the the leader in my age group.
Good luck to everyone doing the challenge. It is perfect timing for me, I'll try rowing while watching the start of the Formula 1 season. What else is there to do on Sunday at 2am.

Long time no post.
Still recovering from injury and trying to be sensible, can't believe how slow I am, so will only bid for 100k but hope to exceed it.
As a small recompense my training buddy (Neil Quilliam) has signed up so you now have two people from the Isle of Man.
Neil is not on the forum but he is just approaching the 2m for the season, he does 10k religiously each weekday, he has a week ski-ing in the middle of the challenge but I will be surprised if he doesn't put in 150k making up for my deficit.
He had asked me to check that he had signed up and entered OK and it looks fine to me so I will tell him tomorrow, between gasps.

Welcome aboard! (I'm guessing this is Daniel Hart?) Welcome to the wonderful exercise/pain/meditation that is erging. No need to think of goals right now -- get used to the activity and work on technique. C2 has technique videos and there are tons of things on YouTube as well. I know we have other RowPro rowers here as well -- but don't row with Cap'n Izz. I did that once and never saw another boat the whole time after about 15 seconds. I'm slow.
As to what else is there to do Sunday at 2AM, uh.... sleep?!?!
