Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Anyone thinking ahead to the 2013 Holiday Challenge. My husband (Ken C.) and I have been talking about whether or not we can make the 200,000 meter challenge. We know we can do 100,000, but the real challenge would be getting to the 200,000. If you do the math, you would need to row approximately 7,400 meters every day. For some people on this team, that would be easy, but for myself and my husband, it is definitely a challenge. I love getting rewards and even the small reward of getting a pin from Concept2 is enough motivation to get me to really want to get to 200,000. So here's to the 2013 Holiday Challenge coming up and getting to 200,000 meters!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Yes, that challenge is coming up fast! We will be tracking challenge goals for it just like we did for the FTC, as well as tracking funds raised. 200k is a great goal -- helps keep those holiday treats in check! (I noticed Kyle has changed his picture to a pie already... )
The Holiday Challenge also raises money for some good causes. Each rower can select the charity from the list C2 is supporting this year. Details on the Holiday Challenge page.
So it's not too early to be thinking about those goals and posting them!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I will try for the 200,00 meters but I know I can do the 100,00 meters. I am loving the workouts of the day Concept 2 post and feel these are helping a lot with my endurance. I am very new to rowing still and am working out the kinks in my rowing technique. Thank you everyone who has given me advice. The popping in my back and hip has just about disappeared. My hands are doing much better (I use my boxing gloves). I am loving the rower and can kick myself for putting off getting one for so long. Who knew you could get such a good workout on one : )

I am trying to picture wearing boxing gloves while rowing ... These must be a different kind of glove than those big red padded ones that boxers wear?divagirl655 wrote:

Sounds like you are making great progress with your rowing, though, so keep on keeping on!

Thanks. I use the gel wraps. They have the cut out fingertips. They are more for wrist and knuckle protection.

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
I just rocked passed 600k and my goal is to hit 1M before year end. I am shooting for getting to at least 700k before the Holiday Challenge starts and ideally I would like to finish out my 1M meters by the end of the HC, so I am on board for at least 200k, maybe 300k! Whatever it takes and it's for a good cause! YAY! Go TimbukTooers! If it helps, I think of 200k as 20 days of 10k with plenty of days to rest, 300k cuts into my rest a little!

To the team... Due to a bug in the stats, yesterday's numbers were wrong and had to be nixed, so tonight's capture will be a two-day total when Cap'n posts them... Sorry!!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room
Thanks for the support Lisa! I have one other big goal. I started this year at 273 pounds, I am now down to about 205, by Dec 31st I want to break the 200 pounds barrier for the first time in over 20 years. It is getting harder and harder to lose, but I am committed to it!damselfly wrote:Way to go man!! You've made some seriously impressive progress.
