Sorry chaps, I'm going to be MIA for a while.

I thought I'd give P90X a try to add some muscle. I foolishly thought that I'd do a few k to warm up then a couple of k to cool down. Then I lay on the floor for a while after doing the first chest/back workout and realised it would be an either/or kind of thing....

Back in 86 days. Or when I get bored of weights ;)

Today is the day to return to the erg! This past week was my favorite annual scientific conference - The Pacific Seabird Group Meeting!

Yes, its true - there are at least 319 other people in the world who are as excited (or more!) about seabirds in the Pacific Ocean as I am. :D And this week I got to see a bunch of them present their research results and do a presentation of my own. It was great! But didn't leave much time for erging. :?

Soo, today I will have to face the painful reality of getting my butt back on the erg and seeing how slow I am. Ouch. At least I've got a landmark that's not too far off to motivate me, and looking to get back in the game for March Madness!!!

Started the marathon training from Fletcher Sport Science-the one Izzy pointed me to. Using a heart rate monitor for specific levels during training. And there I thought I was in decent shape-good thingh I have time before the Blackburn Challenge.

OMG!!! That video is awesome! Actually, one of the more lauded researchers always likes to talk about the time he ate eight alcid stew, but no seabirds were served at the meeting. There was a lot of cheese though.

Slow erging today, but better than no meters at all!
