Sorry I did not reach my goal... last week I was laid low by the "norovirus" which did a real number on me. Hope to break the 4 million meter mark next week...

Wow,you guys are really trying to keep me in suspense. We're within 30K of 10 million, with 20 minutes to row (3 days & 20 minutes to post). Looks like we'll make it, but the suspense is killing me!
I managed to get past 275K but not to 300K myself...

Wooo hooooo! Congratulations to all the folks who met their goals or worked their butts off trying! And congratulations for all of us for doing something good for our health this January!

Despite influenza, norovirus, colds, paraflu, tendonitis, sore butts, sleepless nights spent in Israeli emergency rooms and other trials and tribulations the TImbuktoo Team has prevailed!

I made it back home tonight to finish the challenge with my longest row (of the challenge? season?) 12001, to exceed my goal of 150k by a single, symbolic meter. :P :P :P Yay!

P.S. How was the honeymoon? I hope you didn't spend any of it banding birds!
This is hilarious that they actually track how many emoticons you use in a single post! Awesome. Ha ha! I just got caught by this when I tried to submit the post! TOO MANY SMILIES??

Also, our honeymoon on Kauai was really great - some amazingly scenic hikes on ridge tops, to swamps, waterfalls, hidden beaches, as well as our fair share of mai tais and shave ice. While the trip was definitely not bird focused, I have to admit we did visit Kilauea Point where we got to see Laysan Albatrosses dancing *SO COOL*. Really, really nice and we could have spent at least another two weeks there doing more exploring. Alas, it will have to wait until next time.

Glad that Monsieur Puffin brings you a smile Blacksmith! So fun to watch those fat little flying footballs come in for a landing on a windy day, huh?!

Now, I wonder how many people will row tomorrow...somehow I don't think it will be 1/3 of our team! :) Prove me wrong!!!!

Actually, the puffin I liked best had gorged himself and was trying to take off from the water-ended up not really flying, just kind of skipping from wavetop to wavetop. Just way too funny. And I'll be rowing today-being as I skipped the last day with being tired. At least I made my goal. Congrats to all who pitched in no matter what your distance is. It's the effort that counts!
