Like to share a little bit about the places that we all come from...since that helps make us who we are. Paul S is from Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, GBR...and this is also the location of two ancient bridges that are still used for transport today. One is the Wellington Suspension Bridge, which seems to be more of a pedestrian bridge at this time (dates back to about 1830 so it's done a lot of work), and the other is called the Brig O'Dee and is still used for motor traffic from what I can tell. Didn't necessarily want to call his reindeer Welly or Dee after the bridges, although both would work. Did like a connection or a bridge that could be made to a US mountain man named Bridger, who explored and trapped the western US and mediated between native tribes and encroaching would be settlers. And that's how this reindeer became Bridger. I'm sure it was a bunny trail.
Congratulations, Paul, on meeting the Concept2 donation level and getting your reindeer !
Must say that there are some great looking green spaces and walkways in the Aberdeen area - lots of gardens. One of the items that really caught my eye was the Bison sculptures that are located in a sculpture park. Google the Sally Matthews bison sculptures for more info.

Yoo Maties,
Seems as thou RowPro scalawags have jumped ahead of us. Seems like it's time for a Power 10!!!!
I'll let Karyn explain Power 10 to un initiated!
I'm thinkin' add 5K to your normal row! Go Lunatics
dc
My pal Dan is deferring to me as an official on the water rowing representative. A power 10 is exactly what it sounds like. It is 10 consecutive strokes at extra power. It is used strategically during races to make a move on other crews and hopefully push your crew ahead. The coxswain would simply make a call and the rowers would respond in unison. The command would be something to the effect of "Power 10 in 2" then at the catch she/he would count 1, 2, on the next two strokes and then command "power 10". For the next 10 strokes the crew focuses in on their leg drive and press to push the boat away and move on the crew they are competing with. A power 10 can be called for a specific focus area (i.e.: leg drive, swing, clean release, etc.) or just in general which is usually to focus on power. (For those who row singles, they will often call power 10s to themselves to help gain focus, so even in coxless boats or on the erg, you can do 10s.)
A power 10 will only give you +/- 100 meters depending on the individual rower and size of the boat (an 8+ will go further than a single), so Dan is using it as an analogy for us to make our move and try to close the gap on RowPro who have gained on us. I think it is a great plan. Let's go Looney Crew. Power 10 in 2...
Karyn
PS(Danwho - I love the rowing reindeer and Santa coxswain. Thanks for posting. I just shared it with some of my real life teammates.)
Antler lights....hooyah, Comet !
Woohoo! Comet (aka Danno) has earned his antler lights ...
And, Danno has earned a $6.00 Concept2 donation, the Holiday Challenge pin, and bragging rights for that 200 K to get all those things! Well done, Danno!

Another reindeer....it's Apple !
Another rower reaches the Concept2 donation milestone....and frees another reindeer!!
Hooboy! The erg odometer has been clicking away big time for Pat S of Hendersonville, NC, and he's quickly covered the first 100 K. Good thing, too, because there are a ton of apple orchards in Hendersonville NC, and apples are one of the most favorite things for reindeer.... in fact, Pat's reindeer is named Apple due to the reindeer's fondness for this fruit. Each year, on Labor Day weekend, Hendersonville hosts the North Carolina Apple Festival. The attendance at this event is probably four times the population of Hendersonville, and really gets the community involved. Some of the growers have been involved with apple growing for many generations. Good stuff !
Congratulations, Pat S, on earning the Concept2 donation and getting your reindeer!

Hooyah! Lightning is ready to light up the skies to help Rudolph out!
Another flash at the milestone marker...Adam's covered a lot of meters in a short time, and is now on the final approach towards that ONE million meter season. At the rate he's rowing, he's going to hit that ONE million meters during this challenge. Congratulations, Adam, on reaching the Concept2 donation milestone....takes a lot of good hours of rowing to earn that $ 2!
Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
I want to add my congratulations also to all who have passed milestones recently. Get well wishes to Baz, Ron, and others who are injured or ill. Great advice Karyn and Danno.
