Woohoo and hooyah! One of the great things about Challenges is that the personal meters can really start to add up quickly. Congratulations, Ted, on achieving a ONE million meter rowing season. We wish you many, MANY more!

What else can we say?! Brett's shown an amazing dedication to this Fall Team Challenge ... and one of the prizes that he's picked up along the way is his second million meter celebration. Mind you, we just celebrated his first million meters AFTER the Challenge started....Way to row, Brett! Congratulations on achieving a TWO million meter rowing season. We wish you many, MANY more!

Thanks Jan. I needed around 41k to hit my goal for the competition which I knocked out early. I celebrated with a 17 mile bike ride this afternoon. Giving up bike rides for a month hurt. The last 8 miles were into the wind which was a little rough with dead legs, but the fresh air was wonderful. Last year, I told myself I'd never go all out in a rowing competition again. I'm telling myself the same thing today. I imagine I'll forget the misery in another 11 months.

Two big thumbs up for impressive FTC showings by the LUNA-TICS and Overcoming Disabilities.
And as for Brett, there's an old saying, if the crown fits...

Thanks to everyone who rowed in the Challenge

Post by Kona2 » October 16th, 2012, 3:28 pm

The numbers for the Challenge meters will continue to come in for a couple more days. At this time, it looks like the Luna-Tics Challenge Team will place third overall in the Challenge and that Overcoming Disabilities Challenge Team will place 16th overall, and fourth in average meters rowed per person. The Luna-Tics Challenge team is 16th overall in average meters rowed per teammate. This Challenge was one of the more exciting ones that we've had - no one knew which ranking position either team would achieve up until the last day. I think we all tell ourselves that we row to have fun, but sometimes as it gets closer to the end of the Challenge...our competitive spirits come out and we start to pour on the meters.

Overcoming Disabilities Challenge Team once again has achieved international recognition by the teams competing for greatest average meters per teammate, and for the awareness the team creates for all the other teams. I know that Jim probably had to tell quite a few people who wanted to row with the team that they couldn't. What a great job you've all done!

Thanks to all who rowed as members of the Challenge teams. We hope that you met your personal Challenge goals, and that you enjoyed the camaraderie of being on a Challenge team. Hope to see you in the next team challenge series!

Thank you and it is nice to receive recognition from others during challenges. We really try very hard during these events. But Jim and crew never tell anyone not to row with us. We asked Marie, Michelle, Harold, and Marty if they wanted to help the main Luna-Tics team during this challenge and they did. Great job everyone on both teams !!!!!

Yikes - I think there is a major misunderstanding going on, and sometimes it is best to say "that is definitely not what I meant to say or imply." We are truly blessed to have a blended team - and I really just wanted to say that there are a lot of people on other teams who also want to support Overcoming Disabilities. The message of knowing no boundaries has universal appeal. Sorry if I misspoke or mistyped, etc. Appreciate all the meters that everyone rowed - and the team spirit of the Challenge competition. Whoop, whoop and hooyah for all of us!
