Ha! I knew someone must already have done this. Check out this guy from the ANCIENTS team: Gene Peters, the Rowing RVer... You are looking at the RARV -- the Rowing-Assisted RV!!! Guess you gotta watch those low over-passes though, huh. Be a shame to scatter the erg all over the roadway...

Did we give the food diary lecture yet? If not, if goes like this:
"It helps me make smarter choices and revealed to me that my resting metabolism was on par with a 90 year old woman half my size. Perhaps I was just really that out of shape and lacked the muscle mass necessary to burn the base calories of a sedentary man my size/age."

Proof that you can't out-row your mouth goes like this:
"I've gone from zero exercise to rowing 6,115 meters per day (about 2.2Mil/year) in less than 16 months. I feel great! I've probably never felt better at any point in my life! However, I've only lost 12 pounds. You can't out-exercise your mouth."

Why I don't look as great as I feel goes like this:
"I'm weak. I like harvest mix, hot tamales, and pizza in large quantities. Don't drag it out like I have. Get intense, shed the pounds, and then sustain the loss with the appropriate lifestyle. I think Izz once had a wise quote. If we tried 50% as hard to eat right as we do to row, we'd all look like Shannen Doherty (maybe he said Alyssa Milano I don't really know what era he's pulling names from)."

I'll promise to row more meters if you keep that on your side of the country.

LOL!! Hey, it's got a great nutritional profile for a snack! 1 250g serving is 136 cals, 3.6g fat, 13g carbs (1.2 fiber), 11g protein. Add some high-fiber cereal on top for some crunch and you've got a party!

(I fully admin I have a strange taste in food. But I'll take my snacks over my hubby's -- a mini ice cream sandwich and 6 cookies. Every friggin' night. It's hard not to say anything. :x )

I stumbled upon a Diabetes Walk for September 30 as I was searching for Diabetes Awareness Month info (coming up in November) and decided to ask if they could use any entertainment for the walk since I thought it was so late to get involved with the Walk and Fundraising. I was enthusiastically welcomed to come down to a Rest Stop and perform for 2 hours. I was also informed that I could still Fundraiser for this worthy cause. Won't you please help jump start my late efforts to help this worthy cause?

Hey Bob, good for you! So what type of guitar do you favor, I took up guitar a few years ago and love it, I'm not very good, but what I lack in talent I try to make up for in gear :)) I have a few Martin acoustics amongst others, my favorite is a birth year 1956 00-18G. nuthin' like nylon!

Holy crap Bob, I thought that was Neil Diamond singing, no kidding, that was right on! So you can sing AND play the guitar, good for you :)

And that 68 Gibson must be a killer, NICE! I went and got a Jeff Beck Signature Strat earlier this year, in Surf Green no less...I am stuck in the 60's with Surf Music!

I grew up in Flushing, Queens but am now in Bethlehem, PA, where on LI are you located?

Over-The-Road Update:
Hi All!

I got back home Wednesday, normally I would have stayed out longer but there is a mama rattlesnake under the house (with babies) and my wife is throwing a fit - so I had to come home to get it out. (and do some PM on my trailer brakes while I'm here).

The erg house is doing fine but I need to align the weather seals and give it another coat of urethane while I'm at it.

Anyway, I broke my 10k record this morning by 66 seconds! Yahoo! And No, I haven't got the snake(s) out yet. :D
