I want to thank Quatroux, damselfly, Izzzmeister, and others. I have read your posts and taken them to task. As a result of the excellent advice my program is starting to really take shape.

I took a day off yesterday -- And today I rowed my first 10,000 meters. It wasn't especially fast, but it resulted in a great fat burn for the first 6000 meters, a great cardio workout for 3500 meters, and it was all out for the last 500 (1:50 pace)! This was my greatest row to date. And special thanks goes to Izzzmeister for inspiring the 10,000 meter attempt - I didn't think I had it in me.

From Dalton,GA

Happy Rowing :D ,

Way to row, David!! Was that your first full? I'm in awe!! Not something I can even imagine myself attempting.

Mike, sounds like you're getting a really grounded program going! Congrats on your first 10k!! And for fat burning, slower is better -- you don't want to be going too fast. I try to stay below 85% max heart rate. (You can find calculators online for those numbers). I have to really push it with rowing to get mine up there higher than that -- I have to watch it on runs though cuz of all the crazy hills we have around here.

Don't be discouraged if it takes a while till your weight starts going down. When I started losing weight, it took three weeks or more for the scale to start moving. Bodies are funny. Just keep doing the things you know to be right -- getting exercise and eating less and nutritiously!

Lisa
My first full this year, I did one last year as well..... lost count on how many halfs or more. It is amazing the mental process goes into doing a full..... When those meters are counting down it seems to go slower then when the meters are counting up. LOL like on just doing a "Just Row" Oh I didn't pick a goal this time? LOL not sure why just want to try and row as much as I can... which should be close to 700+ Would love to break the 1 million mark in a month but that is so tough to do with the rest of my work out... I am not doing a two rowing work outs a day unless I free something else up...... But with this TEAM I don't see us dropping out of the top 10 EVER........... Keep rowing
