Welcome to the team, Keigan! As soon as you get off the launch pad you should see your name show up on the team roster here: http://www.concept2.com/sranking03/chal ... =LUNA-TICS. If you don't see your profile showing up then something went wrong
Glad to have you join us!!!!!
Way to row, Ross - Congrats on your latest million!
Doctor Dan, thanks so much for the quick update. It really means a lot! We're pulling for you!
Brett, this year will be marathons # 15 and 16. If I can keep up with the goal of 2 per year, and never miss one, I will hit #100 in the year 2053. That will be the year I turn 89. Thinking about it that way makes me want to quit right now, so I think I will just keep on taking it one year at a time - bite sized chunks, so to speak, and see where it gets me. If I happen to be the oldest participant on the course one day then I will really feel I have accomplished something. There are so many older folks in these races that it is inspiring every time. I want to be like one of them when I am "old", and so I am starting today! Also, I have never run a whole marathon - I always do a run/walk strategy, start to finish - sometimes even walking the whole way if the situation demands it due to the circumstances that day.
K2, sorry for the delayed meter posting. I forgot to post on Wed. and missed my row today completely. Tomorrow is a 20 mile training walk - hope to get going by 5:30 a.m. so as to be done before the sun is too hot.
Have a great weekend, Team. It is great to see all the new team mates, and also all the great profile pictures on the team roster. What a great team!

Checking in for the first time in ages...
Lots happening in all quarters of life, and sadly the erging and participating in this forum has taken a back-seat. Looking to turn that around... hopefully the Dogs of Summer challenge will add a bit of motivation!
Having just read the last few pages of forum "life", I really want to add my well wishes to Danno with his surgery (believing for the best mate - lookout everyone once his ticker is back to 100%!

).
I also want to add my encouragement to Ron with his work resignation (a life changing decision - we are creatures of habit, and whilst being employed for 35 years is an amazing achievement... look forward to the new opportunities that this has opened up for you!). Your "vent" is a very healthy thing to do, and a good sign that you will draw on the strength and encouragement of others - of which there is plenty around here!
Special thanks for the laughs to BigBrett58... best delivery of that line I have seen in years!
Oh, and one of those things that has been taking up a bit of time lately has been the hard work of becoming a (first-time!) grandfather to this little bloke:

Dave H,
Congrats on the ist time Grandfather thing it really is the best.

Allright, Danno. Thanks for the update. I'm totally confident you will be pleased with the by-pass outcome. You're gonna be turbo-charged when you come back!! Don't let them keep you down in intensive care. You just keep moving as soon as you can get up. You won't stop until you get on the erg and row again! Your procedure is routine to them, but not to you. I will not stop praying for you. We will be here as soon as you get back.

It might be Dog Days of Summmrr, but the moose are on the move up here in Colorado! This big guy sports a great example of what some call a "moosetache" - sort of a beard - that is actually called a dewlap.

Total meters on the day = 270,774 m

Thanks for the various birthday well-wishes! My nod to being a "true Luna-Tic" was touring and tasting absinthe at the St. George's distillery. (When St. George's opened in Alameda, CA, in 2007, it was the first in the US to make absinthe since the spirit was banned in the US in 1912.) Thus far, no crazy or criminal thoughts. Well, not many.
Interestingly, the St. George's location is where George Lucas got his inspiration for the Star Wars At At walkers (the derricks in the Alameda shipyards), and Cloud City (looking across the Bay at San Francisco, which is often shrouded in fog). How could I have lived this long without knowing this stuff!
