Our erg is broken...old and broken, kinda like my body. I think I may replace it, the erg not my body, with a SkiErg. Anyone here try one? How does it compare to rowing?
Hi Mardix and welcome
I bought my skierg couple of years ago after I injured my achilles rowing. I can definitely recommend it as a tough workout. The advantage is that if you have any leg, knee injury etc you can still use it sitting down or in a static position.
Takes a while to get used to it as it uses a lot of upper body.
If you do choose to use your legs(rising to your toes and squatting coming down), I found it really great for the legs, my calf muscles can get really sore.
Another great advantage is you don't get the butt numbness from sitting on the rower.Just like the rower tho good form is needed to prevent hurting your back.
I regret selling my rower now, probably a combination of both would be the ideal world.
