Looking to join a St. Louis Distance Erging Team

Post by Dan.Sibbernsen » March 4th, 2011, 3:29 pm

Hey all,
I'm a St. Louis resident and I row out at the St. Louis Rowing Club (SLRC). There are a few distance ergers out there, but not too many. I erg the marathon every April and a half marathon every Thanksgiving (most people consider me crazy for doing it, but it's so enjoyable!). I'm looking to meet other people who enjoy doing distance erging as much as I do, and perhaps do some of the team events concept 2 organizes. Are there any teams out there based in St. Louis that are looking for members?

Thanks for your time,
Dan Sibbernsen

Good morning Dan,

I am unsure if you are interested in a St. Louis only specific rowing Team, but if you want to chat to follow ergers in a supportive envirnoment then head over to Timbuktoo.

We would be glad to have you!

Have a great weekend,
Adam

Dan, Let's not throw the word "enjoy" around so freely! I do have a 1:17:55.1 Half Marathon, and a 2:43.02.3 Marathon, so I at least DO them, and the HMs don't affect me.
I really wish that there was a US long-distance race like there is in the Netherlands ( http://www.ergomarathon.nl/ ), and want to set one up here in Indy. (Maybe 5K, 10K, 15K, HM, FM and 50K?) There are a couple of guys who do one every British morning on RowPro.
If you could forgo the St. Louis part, we'd love to have you on TimbukTOO (and TimbukTWO for the WEC).
In Indy, I'm a time zone away, but wouldn't mind doing an HM once or twice a month, a FM 3 or 4 times a year. Do you own RowPro? If not, for $99 you could get the opportunity of having me try to leave you in my wake...
