Total meters on day 17 = 352,378 m

Crew on the roster = 69

And so, eighteen days into the challenge, we FINALLY arrive at the point where the gel is set...the teams will be what they are at the stroke of 11:59 PM ET tonight. There are 221 teams in the virtual waters....4,658 rowers....each with his/her own reasons for rowing. Good rowing to all !

The Rowing Song....from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory....

There's no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There's no knowing where we're rowing
Or which way the river's flowing
Is it raining? Is it snowing?
Is a hurricane a-blowing?
Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of Hell a-glowing?
Is the grisly reaper mowing?
Yes! The danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing
And they're certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing!!!

Rowing on a lake of chocolate

Post by DuluthMoose » April 1st, 2010, 12:31 pm

What an image Kona2! Now I'm trying to imagine rowing on a lake of chocolate. That would probably give whole new meanings to wetted surface area, prismatic coefficient, and length of the water (oops chocolate) line. Plus the smell. Have you ever spent any time in Hershey, Pennsylvania? I can't imagine rowing for a long time in a chocolate laden atmosphere, drooling and craving the whole time!

Day 3 of "The Silence" dawns...astrogator sends out a ping....[img]

Sorry about that! Gloria hasn't been able to respond to the ping; I've been in sick bay for a week and will be here another few days. :( Hope to return to 5555 very soon! :o

Rowing in chocolate...it would be just seconds before I caught a crab - and was swiming in chocolate!

Concept 2 posted a video of an 8 capsizing today...amazing.

Kona - that time machine looked at first like a rather strange bicycle ...or quadcycle.

Congrats on all the meters rowed, one more month to go...if I manage 7500 m per day I'll make it to the 5K/day board.
