Looking for a club for 2010 WRC

Post by jdaddy55 » March 10th, 2010, 7:48 am

Hi, I'm looking to join a team for the 2010 WRC. I'm 54 years old, row about 10k a day and my current purpose is weight control although i'm eager to join a club this spring to get on the water and row. If you're interested in a new member please let me know.

We'd be glad to have you join the Luna-Tics virtual rowing team. At least one of our team members belongs to a rowing club and puts in some on the water meters, and there are a couple of kayakers as well. Our overall mission is to row enough meters to get to the moon. Along the way, we celebrate each rower's milestones and goals. One of our rowers totally impressed us with his weight loss of 100 lbs over a full year's time. Hope to see you on the roster! Row strong!

Does the "Kona2" refer to outings at the Ironman? My wife is a 3 time finisher, 6th in her age group in '96. I know, my pride is showing.

Whoa! That's quite the accomplishment! No, I've always been a crummy runner - but I can bike pretty well! Kona is actually one of my golden retrievers...I signed on when she was 2.

Here you go - you have to do both of these to be part of the World Rowing Challenge.

Join a team:

1. In your online logbook, click Teams at the top of the page.
2. In the Join a Team section, click Choose A Team and select a team from the list. It would be nice if that team was the Luna-Tics.
3. Click Select Team.

Indicate that you are actively participating in the current challenge:

1. In your online logbook, click Teams at the top of the page.
2. In the Team Challenge section, click the link provided to indicate your participation. This is true for every single challenge....and is one of the things that makes team captains work a little harder on each challenge. It's such a simple step, but easy to overlook. So do it today!

If you change your mind, you can leave the challenge using the Leave this Challenge link provided in the same location. You have until approximately two weeks into the current challenge to make changes (April 1st); after that time, team membership and participation cannot change for the remainder of the challenge.

Looking for a year-round club or team?

This sign on is a little bit different. Go to your profile page, and scroll down to affiliation - you will be able to select a club or team there.
