March Madness
"5000 meters a day keeps March Madness at bay"
March 1–31
The Details

Choose from two levels of participation:
The Basic Challenge: Row or ski 5000 meters each day for 25 days or more in March.
The Advanced Challenge: Row or ski 10,000 meters each day for 25 days or more in March.
This is an individual challenge. You do not need to belong to a team to participate.
Meters must be entered online in your online logbook.
Indoor rower and SkiErg meters only (no on water/on snow meters please).
Who Can Participate

Anyone with an online logbook at concept2.com can participate in this challenge.
Incentives and Rewards

Prize drawings are held every day from all the people who have rowed/skied at least 5000 meters that day and entered it in their online logbook. The more days you row/ski 5000 meters, the more you increase your chances of winning!
On randomly selected days during March, we will draw for an additional prize from those who row/ski at least 10,000 meters.
Prizes vary from day to day, but will include Concept2 clothing, heart rate monitors, Concept2 drinking glasses and some surprises!
Drawings are held at (or soon after) noon each weekday for the previous day, so be sure to enter your meters promptly! We will post names of winners on the web site. Winners will be encouraged to send a photo and brief story to be posted as well.
Hall of Fame—All those who are on-track for rowing/skiing at least 5000 meters at least 25 days during the month of March will be listed in the March Madness Progress Board and will be able to download a specially designed certificate

Mark your calendars..

HiAltRowgal wrote:Well, the Super Bowl Challenge was just for fun, so after thinking about it, I wanted to bring more people in by giving them two days (Monday & Tuesday) instead of just one. 9600 is more than some can do in a single day, especially without much notice. I rowed my 9600 meters today.

The point is to get everyone rowing as much as possible & give people extra incentive to make it fun.

With the Super Bowl prep & guests, I'm behind & have some make-up to do over the next week to get back on track. My knees aren't swelling as much this week (did too much, too fast last week), so as long as my body holds up, I'll keep going.

At this moment in time, we are 642,491 meters behind Team Canada. We lost some ground since Friday, but I still have hope that we can close the gap. Like Lisa's quote from Yoda, "Do, or do not! There is no 'try'." And as Pat says, just do it! ...even when it's hard.

Sometimes I'm not sure whether I'm speaking to you guys or just trying to motivate myself! Making time for daily exercise is hard for me!

Linda... you are definitely being heard..your motivation is awesome.

Hello all,

My skierg came yesterday and I excitedly put it together last night. Good job my wife can read instructions well!

I have to say after using it this morning it is very smooth. If anyone is in any doubt this is a great workout, had to take a breather after 1k  . Congratulations to Concept2 on this machine, it really works on the core/abs.

I could only manage 4k, haven't done anything for over 3 months so will build up slowly, still wearing my orthopedic boot to prevent injury to my achilles. :D

Cool, Chris! Yep, with maps and instructions, we gals have you guys beat!

I just took a look at the demo video, and it does look like a great workout! I set up my computer at work, so I stand all day. It feels good to sit down at the erg! I've thought a little about trying to ski again. If I ever did, the machine would really prepare the body well!

Glad to have you back. Don't do too much, too fast!
