The Eleventh Hour
The Eleventh Hour is here.....it's do or not do.....there is no try. Upload 'em if you've got 'em....it's a wild west shootout here at the finish line and I'm not sure which side of the OK Corral we're on....
Speaking of the Eleventh Hour, there are a couple of references to book and film that I'd like to point out. The first is a book The Eleventh Hour .... which, for those of you who like to solve visual puzzles, codes and such...might prove entertaining:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eleventh_Hour_(book)
and the second is a British miniseries that I believe served as the basis for a one season Eleventh Hour tv show. Haven't seen it, but it is germane.

11th hour crew reporting for duty, SIR!
After I posted my row this evening, I noticed that the race results have been entered! I'm #7 in my age group; #4 in the US, and #1 in US race results! That will hold true until 2/14 in Boston. However, the meters did not show up in my log, I'll have to ask about that. In order to make sure every lunatic-meter gets counted, I entered it myself into my log - so K2, you should see 8862 for me.
Thanks again for all your record keeping. Between the JVC and the Beach Sprints, I managed to log over 200,000 meters in one month for the first time! And I passed 3.3 million LT

Looking back at the 2008 and 2009 JVTC rankings, the nature of the challenge is clearly changing. There are larger teams (some teams combined efforts for this challenge), and there are more teams vying for the coveted top ten rankings. The team that continues to amaze me is The Ancients....44 people generating 18 MM meters....we could never quite catch them, and then they pulled away.
Currently, we're in sixth place -- this can change with late addition of meters. We could have lots of debate about whether it is better to have no expectations and be surprised if something good happens...or...

Wowzer, mates - I'll bet there are some well deserved rest breaks being taken in the next day or two! It might look like the January Challenge took its toll on our crew....but some of it really starts with the Holiday Challenge. Three-quarters of the rowing year is in the bank! We've already passed the total meters rowed for all of 2009 rowing season, and there are more crew in the Luna-Tics rocket rower. In the past nine months, we've rowed the equivalent of 23 percent of the way to the moon!
Season meters as of 276/365 = 88,978,887 m

hi to you all!
with more snow then normally over here I had plenty of time to row twice a day which resulted in 1.020k.
i row a lot because I don't like running and I have to do something to be prepared for the new golfseason.
i scheduled my first real important match 3th week of april so you can count me in for the next team challenge!

Belgian Golfer
We have a first posting from bgolfer (I had no idea that using a leaderboard analogy would be so appropriate)....must be our man Bart in Belgium! You are a mega-rower - so if your golf game is as good....wow! Thanks for all the meters in the challenge - and for all the meters towards the moon! At your current pace, you'll be at 8 MM by end of rowing season!
nice to hear from you and wow ...great rowing...bgolfer wrote:hi to you all!
with more snow then normally over here I had plenty of time to row twice a day which resulted in 1.020k.
i row a lot because I don't like running and I have to do something to be prepared for the new golfseason.
i scheduled my first real important match 3th week of april so you can count me in for the next team challenge!
